Thread: Aludium PU 36
I've tested the aludiums, and I've determined that it actually is better to experiment up (just not much). When spending all the exp points on duration, duration is about 25% higher than base, and the same seems to go with power. Quantity didn't seem to be affected by the experimentation.
Now with the new changes on TC, foods will be experimented less and the quality of the subcomponents will actually matter less (actually the opposite of what TH wants, but go figure!).
I did yesterday various Fishak Surprises using different Aludium and the final results doesnt seems affected for the quality of the resources used in this alcohol.
Using the same fruits and reactive gas for the final combine, and using high HQ aludium and low HQ aludium I got the same final product with 542 Mind, 727s and 8 uses per stack.
So I must suppose that the quality of the resources used in aludium doesnt matter for the final results of the Fishak Surprise.
Btw, I would like to ask if the stats I get with Fishak are good enough, cause I did several assembles with max experimentation values and the max results always were the same, 542 Mind 727s, 8 drinks per stack.
Just out of curiousity, did you experiment on the Aludiums? I did the opposite a while back: used the same resources, but experimented F&T on one set, Nutrition on another, and didn't experiment at all on the third. The experimented ones improved the appropriate stats of my final Durindfire (better duration with the F&T experimentation, better buff size with the Nutrition), even though the experimentable percentages on the Durindfire's combine were the same (all great successes). And after experimenting the Durindfire up to maximum, the ones with the experimented Aludiums had a higher cap, even though the percentage was the same.
If you didn't experiment on the Aludiums, I'd bet that the component resources are not usedto calculatethe Fishak's stats, but the experimentation percentage is.And since you can experiment the categories higher with better resources, it may still be preferable to use good quality stuff in your components. Although depending on how you spread your experimentation on the Aludium, you probably don't need uber-quality, just good enough to get the component'spercentages to where you want.
And if you didn't experiment on the Aludiums, did the percentages reported after the combine differ between the low quality and high quality groups? This would probably indicate that a component's stats are based solely on your assembly skill, and the percentage numbers shift based on new range. So a low quality might have "Nutrition" of 10%, which gives +25 in a range of 1 - 250. A high quality may report Nutrition at 20%, still gives +25, but in a range of....1-125. That's definitely wrong...
Ok, new theory: Each component has a hard-coded range of values, say +1 to +100 for Alludium's nutrition bonus. Better resources allow experimentation closer to 100%, so that component's addition to the final item is greater. But if a component's combine percentage increases with better resources (as it does with non-component items), you should see some difference in the final combine (assuming both final Fishaks had the same success type). Checkthe initial, unexperimented values of the Fishak, since a given success type seems to give identical results when using the same resources. Experimentation can change multiple stats differently, but still give the same percentage, so one experiment raising the Nutritionto 30% may give +300 Mind, -200 action, but+305 Mind, -205 Action on another.
I've got to cut this out, I'm putting way too much thought into these things, and it's far too late to be surfing the forums. Let me know if there was any useful info in my rambling, I'll try some brewing tomorrow.
