Thread: Is anybody making synthsteak in the CU?

I haven't seen much talk of it lately and wondered if anybody else is making it.





Tip to LEC/SOE: Sci-Fi MMO players don't necessarily belong to the same resource pool as fantasy MMO players.

Although short, I hear it still offers a great bonus, and I have sold some regardless of the fact that the stats are +42 mitigation/41seconds.

I make it and it doesn't sell very well at all...every now and then a crate or two.

I havent even bothered to add it to my menu. People def want the 41ish Damage hits then the 41 seconds.

Ouch, I didn't even realize the short time on it. That's too bad, I hate to see a classic like that go.

Put up all my pre-CU synthsteak for 25k and it flew off the shelves. I don't know if it was because no one saw the duration or because of the price. Haven't got around to making any yet but no requests for it either.


Saw a thread where someone posted that the 48% made a huge difference when fighting jedi (a BH of course) because he could pop four and sometimes five in a row depending on filling and he won almost every fight. Fights of this type never last more than 5 minutes normally so I can see the benefit.

Still have some Pre-CU synth left and it is not moving. I think I've sold maybe a crate and that after I reduced the price to about half of what I used to charge. I used to sell it like crazy.

For the most part I've tried to switch over to making Flameout. People I know use it to run mine fields and such, since those things are the devil now.

im prefer to make exoprotien wafers post cu.. even tho its only a 24% damage reduction for 20 seconds but at 5 fill u cant beat that considering 1 steak is 28 fill and 40 secs. Just started stocking vendors with it so ill let you know how it does but my jedi char uses it all the time. Some Bhs in my guild have it in their hotkeys and use a macro that just eats one every 22 secs when fighting jedi.

I believe that synthsteak has changed roles. I still use it myself so I of course stock it. I can't say that it is a particularly good seller but it definitely has 2 distinct roles in the CU.


The first is "save your a$$ in PvP" role. While it is a short duration, when you are the target that has been called on the oposition's ventrilo server, you can make yourself very hard to kill for up to 2.6 minutes while your team takes out some of their guys. It is very effective when you are being hammered by multiple attackers.


The second is "save your a$$ in PvE" role. When it is time to "get the he!! out", a synthsteak and parwan nutricake can make the difference between living to fight another day or the cloner express back to the outpost.


Because of these reasons, I do stock it. It is a great emergency food for sure and is relatively easy and inexpensive to make. If no one wants it, then I wont have to make any and still keep it in stock is my thinking.

From what I hear, and what I've done too, Synth helps when people are running certain quests on Kashyyk, since it takes too much time to fight, and you just have to run through a crowd of spiders or feral Wookies while trying to get to you destination.
