The Chef profession has NEVER not had a profession breaking bug (factories/harvesters, then stacks bug, and now stats bug).

Do you guys honestly think they'll fix chefs before the end of the year? When do you think our bugs will be fixed, and when do you think our class overall will be fixed? Why do you keep paying a company that continually ignores you and has shown a great deal of incompetence towards their OWN game. It's kinda like if you go see a doctor for knee surgery and he fixes your knee but breaks your shoulder in the process, and wonders how it happened. Would you tolerate that?

Even if they miraculously(sp?) fixed all the bugs and made us actually useful before my account expired, I'd still be about 90% resigned to not renewing, but I'm curious to see what other people think.

And actually, I feel a great deal of resentment towards Sony. I bought this game knowing that it was not finished and believing that fixing bugs and fleshing classes out (ie, finishing the game) would be first priority, not adding more broken content. 4 months and not a bit of progress for chefs (and many other professions for that matter).

I was a huge fan of everquest, it was my first online RPG and I loved it, but there's no way in h3ll I'd touch EQ2. In fact, I think my resentment has trickled down to playstations and TV equipment too heh, I just don't trust Sony anymore. I don't want to give money to a company with such disregard for it's customers.

This stat bug has effected all of the classes...it has slowed us down a bit and made some combat with pvp and pve a little more difficult. I do wish that they fix the broken stuff first...we can wait for content or make our own. All they have to do to make things interesting is better loot on mobs and fix the stat issue...we all have stats...they get effected by bug and that means every player has this issue, all of them...no ifs, ands, or buts....we all have the issue that they still can't figure out how to fix. Very disappointed

Answer: I don't anymore. I'm cancelling my subscription. There's a lot of fun to be had playing SWG, but I'm only going to pay $15/month for a fully functional game. If the game is only 50% working, I want them to reduce the fee to $7.50 per month.

The way I see it, WE are partially to blame for this debacle. This game has been so long in development thatmany gamers got impatient and cried and whined to SOE for months to release the game, in any state, and fix it on the fly. The developers are trying to fix this game while we are standing over their shoulders yelling and screaming for a thousand different things at once. It's kind of like trying to tailor a suit to a 2 year old child while he's in the middle of a temper tantrum - it'll take a long time and no matter how hard you try, it won't fit when you're done.

Do you honestly think they're trying to fix things though?

I look over the patch notes for the big monthly patches and so much of it is just fluff. Like changing the number of bounty hunter droids and stuff like that. Things that involve just changing one number. I know someone is gonna say "it's much more complicated than that" but ya know what, they're in the mmorpg business, they HAVE to be able to fix things on the fly without breaking multiple other things. They released a broken product and should have some clue how to fix it.

Even after the last monthly debacle, they still don't realize they need to switch to a weekly format (or some other form of more frequent content/class updates). They STILL haven't fixed a game breaking bug (stats bug) after how long? More than a few business days is unacceptable, it just shows the incompetence towards their own game IMO.

/shrug I know this kind of turned into a rant, thanks for listening

You all have valid points except for one main reason you should hate SOE. If all of the stuff in SWG goes to the test center first to be tested, why in the **edit** did the devs ever push it over to the live servers?

BTW as a droid engineer I sympathize with you.

Honestly.. and I don't mean to flame, but I'm getting a little tired of being dissed as a chef.. I wanted to get into a potentially fun crafting profession that isn't done by ever Tom, Richard and Harry.. So I chose Chef. However, I'm getting really upset and discouraged that SOE has shown NO signs or post on the intent to seriously giving Chef's any love..

Chef's are designed to be ONE of the primary buffing classes, where their entire use is to create and sell to the masses buff stats food/drinks. I have waited patiently with each month as the updates come by for Chef fixes.. I have even stopped doing my job as a chef, because for the most part. NO one buys are junk.. Heck, I've even spend hours grinding infront of a public crafting stations, shouting to GIVE AWAY free stat food, and NO takers.. NO one wants to be bothered to have their inventory taken up by a stack of 6 stupid drinks or foods that give you laughable buffs for only a few minutes.....

For crying out loud.. Dancers and Musicians will soon be able to do mind buffs that last 2 hours.. same as doctors.. but Chefs which have NO other purpose in the game other then buffing, are stuck with childlike buffs that last 5 to 8 minutes at best...... and CAN'T be reused for another 5-8 minutes because you are too full to eat or drink more..

CHEFS need a complete overhaul of their recipes and buffs to put them in line with doctors, dancers, and musicians.. IT"S time to stop nerfing minor things like CH pets.. and spend more TIME in fixing the Chef profession, because at this point in time that Class is virtually worthless and broken..

If you Dev's have something on the drawing board that will soon go live to test center that will fix our buffs,, it would be more then appreciated to hear what EXACTLY you are doing, and stop ignoring the cries of the chef.. As I think everyone has said over the months of our posting is INCREASE the quality of our buffs.. INCREASE the duration of our buffs.. and MOST importantly as well.. get rid of the stupid DOWNTIME of being too full to eat or drink more

As a chef making food.. If I make an item that gives out a 200pt buff that last for 1 hour.. and it wears off.. I should be able to RE-EAT it,, NOT wait some ungodly time to rebuff myself.. If a doctors buffs you and it wears off.. are you forced to wait and hour before the doc can rebuff you again NO.. then don't penalize us CHEFS either..

Chefshave been written out of combat gameplay. As SirVimes' history lesson reminds us chefs were never really part of the combat realm to start with. IMHO the profession should either be removed entirely or given incredible animations/clothings/social emotes so that it can be at least role played really well.

Chef is a niche profession and if I recall correctlyKosterstated as much in the past.

To me, it seems that there is only one question worth asking if you are thinking of cancelling: are you getting $15a month worth of fun out of this game?

Actually, there is a variation, which is: do you anticipate getting $15 of fun out of this game at any time in thereasonable future?

That's a subjective question. First, it depends on how much fun you find this kind of game; second, on what the value of $15 is to you.

Do I think chef will be fixed soon? No, not soon. Eventually.I think we are near the bottom of the totem pole. Am I having enough fun it in spite of this to justify $15 a month? Yeah, pretty easily.
