Thread: Food for the Roleplayers

After having my Master Chef title for a couple days now, orders are coming in ... most are the usual, Fishak, BoH, Sunburns, all the stuff with the useful effects ... but i am also getting another kind of orders, and i would like to please those customers as well, but i know less about ... "their world" ( while i like roleplaying from time to time, i have to admit that i am a powergamer by nature ) ... so i hope to find advice here

Roleplayers ... people that give in game partys etc ... what do you make for them?

My first order was easy, a wedding .. so Wedding Cake was a must, and some drinks ... not looking at the effect, only how the drink looks, name ( though this can be changed off course ) and one that hopefully will have a low price. For the wedding, my advice was Charde or Starshine Surprise ( he went with the latter ), and i also gave him the link to this website, so he could look at how the drinks look and pick his own favourite.

Already had another person ask about drinks for a party though, and i imagine more will follow, so i would like to know what YOU do in these cases? I dont really want to break character here and give them that link, since its an "outside world"-thing.

For RP purposes I try to pick a variety of items that have the best visual graphics, such as Kiwik, Blood Chowder, Vegeparsin. Since the buffs don't really matter.

Kiwik Clusjo Swirl looks like a bowl of green punch. Even though it's in the dessert tree.

My requests have always been for wedding cake and champagne. I always make air cake for wedding cake (I hope that's one of the items they're changing the food art on). For champagne, the starshine surprise bottle looks about the closest (there's quite a number of drinks with that art). I haven't gotten requests for other things, though.

Yep, pretty much what Marrok said, go for the graphics and consider the buff secondarily, since the stuff will either be consumed in a non-activity environment anyway... or, for the more cunning RPers, kept until a later time, and you sure don't want to be too much of a sucker and give away Tat Sunburns for free. While you could make Wedding Cake itself, if you're making for more than just the Bride and Groom [cuz you're not too much of a shill], then give the guests Air Cake.

Once you have the desired grafic impression, have fun with the names. Use youir imagination, and enjoy yourself. Think of actual weddings you've been to maybe, or parties... didn' the cheap champagne they handed out in teeny bottles have custom writing on it? So knock yourself out and make it fun.

I myself and planning on brewing some Starshines and rename them something liek Great Race Champagne, as I promised to provide bubbly for the finish lines of several speeder races being organized on SF.

I usually make wedding cake if time allows it or air cake if time doesnt allow it...(mainly because the description of the item when you examine it). Drinks if they want champagne I usually do starshine...however lately on my server its been trendy to use BoH for champagne...Ive just been putting the normal alcohol into those.

For non wedding parties...I like to do a variety of the foods with the best looking graphics. And specially named items made by hand for decorations that go with the "theme" of the party. Christmas cookies, Eerie eyeballs etc etc I also tend to put my less than best ingredients into party food as the stats really dont matter so much here and I usually cut them a break on price as well since its a special occasion type thing and I dont have to be so intense with buff quality.

As to sending them the link, just inform them of your "Catalog" that can be found if they turn thier data terminal to ......

Most Rp folk will accept that as a decent attempt on your part to fulfill the spirit.

vegeparsine and ice cream are my favorite sprites, there really isn't anything great on the drink side though, I'm pretty partial to jawa beer.

when someone contacts me for a "decor job" as I call it, where they're looking for something to spruce up their house, they usually want the name of the food renamed to something else. I always inform them of the little description that you get when you examine the food, it might contradict the name they want to give it.

When I give weddings, or any other sale not purely buff related I do the same thing. Like when I make drinks for my PA in our cantina. I rename alot of drinks to satisfy their ego for lack of a better word. Where in reality, alot of people are drinking charde. But they're happy. I like the descriptions for bantha blaster and deutrium-pyro.

So my little input is take the small descriptions of the food/drinks into consideration as well. Or maybe I'm just the only Chef **edit** enough to care. Whatever
