Thread: Dependence on quality?
Well since I haven't been a crafter before at all really the experimental factors confuse me a bit. How is it really calculated- when the stats are dependant on for example 33% OQ, 33% PE and 33% Flavor... is that based on an avarage of the PE for example on the resources used? Or is it divided that it chooses like the the 33% with highest PE, then out of the rest 67% it takes the 50% highest in well lets say flavor?
The real question I guess is if a wheat for example that have 1000 Flavor and 500 PE is better than a wheat with 750 in each? (well then of course setting the prerequisits that they in the receip are wheighted even)
Ah, thanks for the clarifying- then it was as I suspected- and it means it will be alot of hard work finding good resources. What would be considered an good quality for resources like that (if you take a mean on the PE/OQ/FLA- since they are all needed)? Not a supreme quality but a decent one that's worth working with? (not for grinding)
Two things. First, the stat weightings are going to change with the revamp, so resources that are good now may not be quite as good after the revamp. I doubt anything will go from great to crap, though, we still depend mainly on PE/OQ/Flavor, but UT and SR (only when there's a hide/mineral component) were also added.
Second, I've never really trusted the percentages listed in the schematics. OQ is the sole determiner of Quantity (the food's stack size). So in NikkiT's example while the 33/33/33 adds up to 500 for both (and that's the percentage shown for the Quantity category), the 0 OQ would mean that the Quantity category wouldn't be experimentable, and you'd be at a rock-bottom stack size.

Thank you for the tips, they are greatly appreciated.
