I need crates of Ormachek

Paying 25k per crate, from now till sunday, send me in-game tell, and deliver it to my vendors once i give the wp. For 25k per crate (considering i paid 8k per crate for the others i just used up) you can deliver it.

Asone of thelargest producingchefs on Kauri, I want you to know that I doubt you will find somebody from these boards to fill this order.

The hides alone should be saved for the new Ormachek which will go in with the next publish. The time spent gathering these resources is not worth the factory time and the 25k. Any fellow Kauri chefs who frequent this section are probably doing just that.

What you may want to do, is try to gather all of the resources (or even just the hides) yourself and then ask a Chef to produce the schematic for you for a price. Many non-masters would surely take you up on this offer if presented with the chance to make a quick buck or two.

Just an opinion. Don't think I am flaming. I am just giving you honest and practical feedback to this post.

Is any other chef shocked by this suggestion? There was a huge debate about this (selling of schematics) over at the Smuggler forums about a schematic for clamps, and the general feeling was that a schematic for 1000 clamps (retail value = 440,000 credits) would usually be sold for about 500,000 credits, since it gives someone not normally able to make something an abilitiy to compete.

Syjes- I'm not flaming here. The reason I bring this up is I was recently approached to produce a schematic for Fishak for someone from my server. That's something that would be worth about 1.3 million produced (assuming 20 cases). So what would a schematic be worth? I was offered 10,000 at first, which I laughed off, and said that I thought it would be more like 1 million. However, it's very little work for me. We got to a price of half the production (i.e. I get 10 cases, they get 10 cases but provide the resources).

What is a schematic worth? Especially for a master-level food? ...and especially with the revamp coming up?

Are you serious? That's ridiculous.

Now, I'm not familiar with the resources necessary for clamps, but isn't a large part of the 440k figure going to pay for materials? And if you're only making a schematic for someone and they are providing the resources... well, don't your costs take a nose dive from thousands and thousands of resources to zero? And it doesn't even take up time in your factory! That costs more?

This is like McDonalds charging $2 for a Big Mac and charging $5 to hand you a raw hamburger patty and telling you to go cook it yourself.

I'm not remotely shocked by this suggestion, what I'm shocked by is the terrible business sense smugglers (a profession that ostensibly knows something about how to make a buck) have. Making a schematic for someone else requires none of my resources, none of my factory time, and hardly any of my personal time. I can't imagine charging more for that than something that would take considerable amounts of all three.

He wants Ormachek, not fishak.

Basic Economics 101. Opportunity cost.

No master chef will keep ormachek in stock due to factory time, resource use etc knowing the time and effort it takes for that ormachek would be better used for other products. My suggestion to him was to save him time waiting 1-2 weeks only to find that nobody would help him.

Before you were a master chef, did you make any money except selling sunburns? Probably not. My suggestion was for this individual situation. I have never and will never sell a schematic. I was doing a public service to somebody from my server by offering a suggestion to him that maybe a non-master chef would take.

I think I answered his question quite fairly, rather than ignoring it.

Last point off topic from the original poster's question...

You cant sell a schematic for Fishak unless you sell him a schematic for the Aludan too.

You would have to make a Aludan Schematic for 1000, run 6, stop the run, pull the schematic, combine for Fishak and sell him both the Fishak and Aludan Schematics.

Sounds like you either hosed a foolish buyer, or are making up a story.

Actually, Ormachek is popular in my PA for some reason. I make crates of the stuff and it goes almost as fast as I make it. Fortunately I'm in a large PA and as long as I tell them what I need, hides aren't a problem.

correct - the idea was to create all schematics (I believe it's the Alduan, Carbosyup and the Fishak) selling all 3 schematics including doing the in-between factory runs to create the Fishak.

The issue I had was - what if I sold it to him for 250,000, and they start selling Fishak for 40K a crate (i.e. they make over 500,000 and depress the Fishak market price). That was what I was worried about. Not that any Chef might not do that, but the chef would be more cognisent of the effect of undercutting while a guy just using up whatever resources they had lying around may not.

Alternativley, this is giving someone who is NOT a chef the ability to create his own crates for a personal cost of 12,500 per crate instead of paying the market rate of 50,000 to 65,000. While this wasn't a current customer, it could have been... Whatever they produce would be (potentially) less sales for me or at least for the chef community as a whole.

On the other hand, it's not much work and is an easy couple of thousand (I think we had agred on a 200K price, but changed to the 50/50 split because that would be worth more to me).

In this case, this was a PvEer who was looking to build up a personal stock, so it probably wasn't an issue. ButI had a really hard time selling the schematic (which I still haven't done yet). And what price should I charge? 10% of retial? 25%? 50%?

Note also that this wasn't a personal attack... Also note that the smugglers have VERY little business sense (many are pricing spice at 1.5 cpu of ingredients (i.e. cost) just to corner the market - cases of Muon Gold for 1,750 when the market used to sell them for 9,000 a crate. The intention of selling a schematic was intended to be punative and targeted at hologrinders.

I honestly do not see what the big deal about making ormachek is, lets see

10 wheat to make 1 dough

no particular type of wheat, just wheat, i have 22k of it on hand.

then you need 10 meat

20 beans

and 10 bristley hide

1 dough

per ormachek.

Ok, so to make me 4 crates, which is 100 ormacheks

1k meat

2k beans

1k bristley hide

and 1k wheat for 100 doughs

Why is this a problem!!!!! and judging on the going rate of these resources, your looking at a cost of maybe 20k per crate, so my offer of 25k per crate is fair and covers the costs. and that is if someone charges you the specific rate for bristley hide, which i really consider a generic resource, seeing as i can kill very low level creatures on tat and get it day in and day out, yes yes yes, the resources stats could be a question there, but I didnt ask for ormachek that does +200 did I.

And as far as the arguement of Factory Time. hell, in one hour, the dough would be made, lets see, thats 60cash adn 50 power for that hour, and about 1 more hour for the 100 in crates, wait thats 50cash and 50 power, so lets see, 120 credits for maint, and 100 units of power. Hell , i'll even throw that in also.

Come on chefs, take an order, or get out of your profession!

Dude, calm down. First off, the only real response you got was about why you might not get a response. The rest was a sidetrack about what selling schematics does to the food economy, which doesn't really effect you one way or the other. Well, there was Sykes's mention about why a Master Chef wouldn't bother with Ormachek, Masters have much better money-making opportunites. But anyone with Entrees II and Cooking II or III can make a decent Ormachek.

1) Not all chefs read the boards.

2) Not all chefs take custom orders, or if they do its only for PA members.

3) Of the chefs that do take custom orders, most are busy with a backlog of Angerian or BoH runs.

4) Of the chefs that take custom orders and read the boards, most look for them in the server trade forums, not the chef profession board.

5) Your factory times are a bit low. 100 dough takes about an hour, true, but 100 ormachek is more like four and a half. That's five and a half hours that could be spent making more popular (and better profit) foods.

6) Not all chefs have scout skills, they usually buy their meat. And they usually specifically buy insect, carnivore, or domesticated meat for Vercupti, Bivoli, or Glazed Glucose Pate, again, higher profit margin foods. They won't want to use up those specific types to fill an Ormachek order. And since none of the "big sellers" use hides, they're unlikely to have a 1k stack of identical bristly just sitting around.

7) The released stats for the revamped Ormachek look pretty useful (unfortunately not for crafters), so any chefs who do read the boards and have the resources probably want to wait until they can make the new version.

And saying "take my order or get out of your profession" (yes, I know what you typed, but that's what you meant) gives absolutely no incentive to people who might've taken your order to take time out of their game schedule to help you.

When you first posted, I didn't have much to say since it would've been limited to "sorry, not on your server". Now I'd just like to echo ModiMolokai's sentiment.

You come to our boards and tell me to take yourorder or get out of my chosen profession? Are you out of your mind????

Since you are so bright as to the production time and resource cost, go to the store, but another SWG CD key and make your own Chef.

Save that25k you were offering on the crates of food, and go buy yourself a clue. I would sell a holo-chef my resources before I would make a stack of ormachek for a person such as yourself.
