The devs have taken a copy of Bria (dated from the 22nd) and placed it on the Test Center 2 server, and open this up for all to play. This includes skills, resources, structures, etc. Here's your chance to go test those new foods with the good resources you have stocked up!

Agreed. I'll be playing my combat alt on there really heavily over the next few days. Not going to be using my chef, but I'd be certainly interested in talking to any chef that wants to experiement with the new foods. Sox will be on there, with 4 eqpt factories and a pile of resources to burn. Chefs, contact Sox if you need control units and power conditioners to make casks. I'm going to put a run of 1000 of each into the factories as soon as I can log in.

Love the idea, but the initial implementation seems a bit shaky. Once they get the kinks worked out and I can log in I'll test a couple things, but for those of you who are impatient, there's a bug list already growing on the Bria forum. Of particular concern to Chefs is this post:

I have several crates of food and drinks. Fishak, a drink, works fine, but i cant get vercupti, food, out of crate. Hope this bug gets fixed, i have ofer 30 crates of it on Bria.

Looks like the fix for prepatch foods didn't quite work out.

I can confirm that. I cannot remove Tat Sunburns from the crate of them I have.

Ok, finally managed to get into Test, grabbed some resources, here are my results. First, I decided to make some Vasarian Brandy, since this figures to be an important drink. I then made some Accarragm, since I had some pretty good fungi on me and it buffs for the same fill/duration/amount as Brandy (yes, I checked).

Accarragm:
ingridients:
fungi: 932/510/966/718
For the duration test I substituted in a fungus with OQ: 879 flavor: 685.
Assembly:
24/20/24/27

unexperimented stats:
Quantity: 7
Filling: 22
buff: 127
duration: 34 minutes

I created four drinks, each with one of the stats maximized.

experimented stats:
quantity: 9 (82%)
Filling: 17 (87%)
buff: 171 (87%)
duration: 52 minutes (77%)
NOTE: these are four different drinks. It is not possible to produce a single drink with all these experimented stats.

I then created one using a large glass (I lack the parts to make casks/kegs). Its base was 10, and a full experiment brought it up to 13 uses.

Comment:
- quantity was MUCH harder to experiment on that any of the other stats. I made each of the other three drink in one attempt, while getting a near-maxed quantity took me 6 or 7. I repeated each of the other creations (again in one attempt each) and needed a dozen attempts to create a second maxed quantity stack.

Analysis:
- larger container values appear unchanged, so they still aren't worth the expense, unless you're looking to multiply the value of VERY expensive ingridients, like an item that has both a heavy BE additive and contains a lot of milk.
- filling is not worth experimenting on. A 27% reduction in filling doesn't compare to a 35% buff increase, and is only half as effective as the 53% duration increase. If your customers want to be under the effect of the maximum sustainable buff possible, put your points into duration and any leftovers into buff size. This is doubly beneficial for your customer (though your bottom line may disagree) because it not only means larger buffs, but it also requires fewer swigs overall. Disreputable, err, I mean, uh, business-savvy chefs may want to experiment filling and leave duration alone simply to encourage customers to run through crates as fast as possible.
- the effect of experimenting on quantity stacks with the benefit of using larger containers. It's clearly not worthwhile on small glass drinks (and hence on foods as well), and the benefit is dubious on large glasses. Extrapolating, I could possibly see putting a point or two into it if you're right on the cusp of rounding up to another use, but large changes here don't seem possible. The seemingly high failure rate on this experiment is an extra nail in the coffin. On my Brandy experiments using 6 experimentation bubbles turned 6 uses into 7.

Hmm, a zillon combat types and only a few chefs, well why test the crafting side anyways--it's better to be surprised on Live right?

Padre, the reason for testing the combat side is to go into detail about how the effects actually work in practice. So far, all the testing I have seen done here is for the basic experimentation effects. There seems to be little to no testing of the end effects. For example, let's go grab a commando, chef and myself and go try out the effects of flameout. Or a lets get a TKM, chef and myself and see how the stat buffs for KD/dizzy attacks work. That is the thing we need to look at yet that hasn't been tested.

Ok that's a fair purpose, but surely there must be some exclusively combat types that you are friends with in the CC. I say this because there have to be a lot more of those to choose from than fully equiped/set up chefs. In particular many of the comments about the TC food stats were that they were made with very limited resource selections.

I logged on to the Bria Test Server with my Master Chef. Is there some city that everyone congregates in? I found 2 (yes 2) people in Theed and 1 person in Coronet city. Where is everyone at?

SirMix, I'm trying to organise some GCW testing tomorrow afternoon between 3pm and 6pm PST. Location is going to be somewhere near Strongbadia (Naboo). While the main aim is testing GCW bugs (fixes hopefully), I would really like to have a Chef along so that we can test out various combat stat enhancements during real live combat. I am expecting to be logged in as Sox, but may be in as Titzosh. If you would be interested in coming along, I'd be glad to see you there. If you need any specific resources from the MA line to make barrels with, fire me a PM beforehand and I'll make sure to bring a crate or two of parts for you.

Just tried logging into TC-Bria just then and it's still down. For cities, Theed seems to be the gathering place, or bestine, right now.
