Thread: Is experimentation pts on artisan food limited?
Thanks for the quick response. I dont have any engineering tree. And considering its food Im experimenting on that seems a little stupid. I am a "Master" chef. But SOE never made much sense anyway.
Thanks again Stang.

whats even worse is when you realize that you can actually have 12 points and then you crave to have those last two
Master Artisan= 10 points (+100)
Max Skill Mod= 2 points in reality (+25 max)
Human Factor= 1 point in reality(+15)
Non-humans can go as high as 12 boxes. Humans though can get to 14 boxes when maxed.

I am referring to myself as a Twi'lek (sp?). When I realized I can go an extra 2 points, I went nuts searching for artisan experiment tapes. Not sure if humans can go +14 or not, not sure what race the topic creator was. I only speak from what I know.

I think this would fall into the same "base max vs. enhanced max" that lets foods break the +25 barrier that clothing attachments fall under. Foods boost the base skill value, sostarting at "100/125" (base skill of 100, +25 worth of attachments) eating a +10 food shows up as "110/135". Humans have a base max of 115 (100 from artisanskills, +15 for being human), which when combined with +25 would theoretically allow an artisan experimentation of "115/140", getting 14 experimentation points.
Now, whether this happens in practice is a whole 'nother ball of wax. Are there any artisan items other than food (since before the revamp no one cared about artisan food) that need that much experimentation? Most of them (like powerups) only have a single experimentation category, which you can max with 8-9 points provided the resource stats support it.There'sthe starterweapons, but those are going to be used only as long as it takes a novice marksman/brawler to certify for the weaponsmith weapons.
I am a human master artisan with 13 boxes currently. I will know later tonight or tomorrow if I can have the coveted 14th box.
Personal Harvesters can be experimented for BER and high storage with 14 points. Many of the common MA items though usually wont get you too far past 8-9 boxes.
I will be using my 14 points for Artisan Foods primarily to suppliment my Chef items. With those 14 boxes, I hope to find better use for poor resources rather than deleting them or selling them for 2-3cpu.
It's still only really food that is worth investing in tape 4
A 14 point large hopper BER 4 harvester will still only fetch 1000 creds or so, and won't even move off the bazaar especially fast. A really nice low level weapon is not really more than a really nice present to a completely new player - it's easier to skill up two boxes with a rubbishy weapon than to save up a fair price for a really good Dagger or Heavy Axe made with several million creds invested in tape
