Hi all - I'm not Master yet but I love the profession and am steadily climbing up the tree - only 4 boxes to go.

I want to thankall the particpants in the Chef ForumespeciallySir Vimes, PSKstang, Ezran, and sciguyCO (think i might actually be in love with him) for all the fantastic information and humor they have provided me over the last two months. Reading this forum has been the highlight of my days for the last several months.

Getting to Master is one thing, creating masterpieces is another - which is why I've been slowly climbing the tree (hate wasting resources so only grind in practice mode when on the last dash to completing a box - except for the grind I did up the experimentation line - whew glad that part isover) and concentrate a ton of time on finding the great resources (I look for flora with stats that add up to > 2500, currently drooling over flowers with stats > 3000).

For all those who wonder if a chef can make money without selling crates the answer is yes as I cover my expenses with a bit of profit selling stacks on my vendors (two different planets - merchant skills are really a must). The best thing about doing this in the beginning is that you get experience making the new foods and you find out what sells and at what volumes. I also have not done anything with BE components yet or even casks as I don't want the added expense before my business can afford it. Don't forget the bazaar either, I fill my slots up everyday and keep several slots filled with items for advertisement.

Now for some questions and I apologize if these have been answered elsewhere - I must have missed the answers:

Garrmorl currently is limited on experimentation because the ingredients don't provide PE or FL but the formula requires it - will the proposed new changes for experimentation for publish 7 remove this problem? My understanding is that resource quality will no longer limit how much you can experiment in a line the only limiting factor will be how many experiementation points are available to you - there again my understanding could be flawed. (Surprisingly this is one of my big sellers even flawed as it is - and expensive as it is as my pricing formula includes a premium for hunted resources verses mined resources).

Amount of storage - has anyone approached the devs about increasing the amount of items in component crates? For example going from 10/25 to like 100 (I know I'm dreaming) currently I create the Artisan components in a factory (as I don't need more artisan xp) but can see that I'm going to be swamped if I try to keep components in stock for crafting and keep crates of saleable food in stock at the same time. Actually from the moaning and groaning I read on other boards storage is a problem for everyone and consolidating components would help all crafters. If we get plates as well as drink containers I see huge storage problems in our future - though I like the idea of plates.

Art - is anything being done about all the stuff in the dessert line that uses the same art? There's a good mix of different art in all the other lines but there are like 8 items (could be wrong on the number - not in game at the moment to look at them) in the dessert line that all look the same - it's not only confusing to me but also to my customers - I've had complaints that they eat the wrong food for the occasion because they were in a hurry and didn't stop to read the item name just targeted the pic.

Thanx for any answers,

I won't dare answer for Verant on Garmorrl and the upcoming changes til we see them in test. I'm not even sure how much it will matter - I still cringe when friends ask me for it - bone is scarcer than milk on Kette (if you're going to scout-harvest, you're going to get doc meat or armorsmith hide, not bone).

The storage thing has always been annoying, especially when (due to bugs) some factories don't hold 200 items as they should, and when we look at tailor (and other professions) components, some of which already come in crates of 50. I dearly wish we had the option of running them that way. Think how many items would no longer be created if we could make a 500 stack crate of food! Sure we'd divide them up, but we'd have the choice to do so, and in the meantime there'd be 19 fewer crates per run per each factory chef (49 fewer for power-up merchants). That's a LOT of items, I'd think database-conscious devs would love that solution.

Art - here's a funny for you, if you have some pre-patch Ice Blaster lying around. It has a unique graphic, a NEW one, with the smoky glass and the pinkish-liquid, a graphic that didn't, for some reason, get used on any post-patch drinks. Boggle! They sorta half-arsed the "new graphics" thing, I doubt they ever revisit it. For now, I'll shut up and enjoy the Cheesy Omelette graphic.

Nice, love those new graphics on food we don't see anymore. Can't wait for them to come back when someone decides there's a skill that needs buffing.

I noticed the same thing on Tatooine sunburn. It has a cool new graphic. I can't remember if I saw it before.

Looks like we just have bad luck picking recipes, since we just happened to keep all the ones with old graphics.

Old Tat Sunburns have the same graphic as the new Deuterium Pyro. But as far as I can tell, ice blasters have a unique graphic not shared by any craftable drink. It's pretty cool, too. The bottle apparently has two separated sections, one side is full, the other about half. I've got a few stashed around for decoration.

And I really miss the old Correlian Fried Ice cream graphic. That just looked neat.

Hmm, what else was there.

Oh, Garrmorl. We may have to wait for the experimentation change to hit TC to really figure out what's going to happen. The devs can't seem to put out a clear description on what this will be like. We may get something as fun as keeping the Flavor/PE requirements, keeping the max percentage down at around 20%, and only gaining 2% per great success.

Storage pretty much sucks for everyone, I'd like to see bigger crate sizes for components, but I'm not hold my breath.
