Thread: The Neo-Chef, The Old Fuddie Duddy, and Tolerance
There’s an awful lot of tension on the boards; chef forum ain’t all-inclusive in this aspect, as of late due to the rampant overhauls and nerfs. On one side of the fight, here, we have the "neo-chefs" and on the other we have the "old fuddy duddies". Who’s right? Who’s wrong?
The neo-chef is relatively new to the profession and has not contributed much to the forum, relatively speaking. Does this make the neo-chef less important than an older chef? Does his/her view count for less than an older chef? The quick and concise answer is an emphatic NO. You have to realize that he/she has NOT been up and DOWN the rollercoaster that you have.
The old fuddy duddy has been around since the inception of the game. They’ve seen the crate bug, they’ve seen the stat bug, and they’ve been DOWN and DOWN and UP and DOWN and DOWN and UP the rollercoaster that has been the chef profession. Does this make an old fuddy duddy a whiner? Does his/her view of how things SHOULD be constitute an instant flaming? The quick and concise answer is an emphatic NO. You have to realize that he/she HAS been up and DOWN (lots of downs on this one) the rollercoaster while you have not.
As to who’s right and who’s wrong, you’re both right and you’re both wrong. You’re right in the fact that you both care enough to post here in regards to your opinions. You’re both wrong in the fact that you both begin to flame one another for no other reason than the fact that the other’s opinion differs from that of your own.
Tolerance comes into play when both the neo-chef and the old fuddy duddy come to the realization that the other sits on a toilet, just like they do, and squeezes out long cylindrical shaped excrements JUST like they do. Opinions are like **edit** sphincters, everyone has one.

Good post. I could've done without the toilet imagery, but the point was well made.
