Should a chef work with a bio engineer, or is chef ok alone?

Well, what are you looking to do? If you want to sell a lot of enhanced foods and can't find a steady BE (or two) to partner with, taking up BE yourself is a viable choice. You have more control over manufacturing cycles, and a better hand on quality control. Of course, taking up BE will be quite a time-sink, especially if you stick to harvesting your own meat. Although, I think if you take Master BE and Master Chef, there aren't many skill points left over for combat skills, so you may not be able to kill your own creatures.

You could also just go up the tissue and experimentation lines in BE to save skill points, but you won't get the schematic for the heavy Nutrition or Filling supplements (and I think MBE adds another experimentation point or two).

Or you could do what I and a few other chefs have been doing: focus on non-enhanced foods, maybe picking some supplements up here and there if you get the chance. My stock turnover hasn't been as fast as pre-revamp, but I suspect that has more to do with the enhanced duration than anything else, there have been a lot of compliments on the new stuff. I'm still making a profit, and I'm slightly less chained to my harvesters and factories. It's also given me a chance to do up runs of a larger variety of food, since I'm not just doing carbosyrup -> aludian -> Fishak all the time.

I have a master chef/master BE and I think its great if all you do is make food. This is okay as long as you have other accounts, but without any combat at all, she can't participate in SWG content or even get her own meat.

Being unable to get your own meat, hide, etc... for the recipes/BE schematics is a pain with this....

I was going to just do 0-3-0-4 BE so I could get some combat.
