Hi all...just starting out on CHEF and would like to ask a couple quick questions....

1) Is there a list of items to grind for best XP as you work up the profession? I assume it changes for every box you get?

2) Where do you get milk?

thanks!

1) Grind Wrastil Bread (sp?) until Mix II. Grind Ithorian Mist from Mix II until master.

2) We'd like to know too.

Hello all Chefs.

I am a noob chef and have a question... or two. Is there like a base price chart for food items? And should I even bother to sell items that aren't in crates? I do not have access to a factory right now....

Single stacks do sell (although more on the bazaar than a dedicated shop). The issue for the customer is inventory space: a crate of blob candy takes up two inventory slots (one for the crate and one for the pulled food), while the same amount of singles would take up 25 slots.

A factory should probably be one of your first investments (after a few harvesters). They're not extremely expensive, on my server I think they run 10-30k. That may seem a lot of money when you're first starting out, but after some time in-game you'll have a decent bankroll. If you need cash quick and have access to space, killing off some NPC ships is an easy way to make some credits. You'll loot credit chips and ship components, and components sell to the chassis dealer for 1k per component level.

The other reason for a factory is that higher level foods require identical components. So to make Vasarian Brandy, you need two alcohols with the same serial number. The only way to get these is from a factory (hand-crafted alcohols would have different serials).

The best place to find a base price for products is to look around other vendors on your server. Nobody here will be able to give you even close to a set median to take every server into account.

If you don't have a factory, you can sell invidual items, but you naturally won't be making as much, as quickly. You can always use the bazaar and get your name out there before you're able to start mass producing.
