Casks are almost always used as it provides the most uses in a product. In the case of BoH it is 6-7 uses. Never made it without casks but can only imagine glasses only giving 3-4 uses.

I must be doing something wrong.

I made up a batch of BoH the other day. I used the best resources I could find - no stats were under 700, and at least one of either flavor or PE was nearly 1000 (and when I used them I got a green bar next to the ingredient). I used casks - and a heavy additive - I only have 10 exp points though. My BoH came out 3 uses, and like 372 or so on +Health. I experimented that up to +466 - did not experiment on uses though.

Should casks automatically come out to 6-7 uses, or is that fully experimenting on the quantity?

I'm trying to get my exp points up, but I don't have that kind of money - Food exp skill tapes on my server are going for like a million per point. I did manage to get a chef apron cheap, but that was only +5.
