Thread: Don't like limit of 100 on schematics?

Ok, if you don't like the 100 limit schematics, post on this thread and let holo know:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Developers&message.id=741&page=1

Also, if you want to talk about it on these boards, do it in this thread. It will be easier to show the devs how muchchefs are unhappy about this if I got all the complaints/rants/whatever in one area instead of having to hunt around for them.

The correspondents are also going after the developers about this on our forum. Nobody is happy about this one.

Given the length and anger of the holo thread, I'm pretty sure that the 100 limit won't stand. But my example:

Let's say that I have 1 factory and I have an orderfor 4 crates of Breath of Heaven (not unreasonable). It will take an entire day to produce 100 aludium pu36 (6-8 hours, but I'm only on 4 hours a day), the next day to produce another 100 aludium, and on the third day I would produce the BoH, which uses 2 groupings of 3 identical components. On the forth day I would produceONE crate of BoH (maybe 30 stacks total). It would take 2 weeks to fill the 4 crate order, and I couldn't factory anything else during that period. This cycle can be shortened by using 2 factories (8 factories would make the whole thing happen in 2 days), but the profit for the BoH would be signifigantly reduced by the incredible overhead even if I had the lots to give.

BoH would cost 3 days worth of maintenence using either method. Combined with material costs and time expended, that gets expensive for not a lot of return. This is further minimized by the planned huge improvement in musicians, who will be able to do a much better buff for probably less than an hour of work, using an unbreakable instrument. They can macro their entire process, it's just ridiculus.

The BOH example above is right on. I'd also like to point out that food takes a very long time to make in a factory compared to the amount of resources used and the time it takes to consume. If you log on maybe 3 consecutive hours a day at a time with a 100 limit on your factory, and say 3 factories running at once, the most you could really expect to make is 1.5 crates of BOH every day, and no other food. That is, if you have 2 factories continually making aludium and 1 factory making BOH with the previous day's aludium. The only way to do more than this is to say log on twice a day - before work and late at night - which gets you 2 crates and 2 half crates. It's kind of hard to think of any but the seriously dedicated doing this.

I currently am backlogged for orders ofI think about 10 crates of BOH.. so.. ouch.

The problem is that if they find out that this screws over chefs they are MUCH more likely to have it go live. Im not sure what we did, or why, but they hate us to death.

Please allow chefs to heal something, god know the only way to get descent buffs in this game is to also be able to heal something.

How about also making pet foods that are mopre complex heal pets faster. Instead of having a bofa treat be just as effective as Breath of Heaven

The BOH is a really good example but look at Elshandruu Pica Thundercloud. It requires 4 identical alcohols therefore it is impossible to make a full crate. In general the maximum you will get will be 3 crates on anything. I think that would mean a maximum of 3 per factory as most of use play for a block of time, then come in the next day for the block. You can't change it out if you arn't playing. I just made master a week ago and run 2 factories. They can't keep up and I don't get many orders at all. Running the 2 factories plus a house and a harvester for power only leaves 5 spots for harvesters. I have a hard time getting supplies since we need so many different kinds. I think it is perfect the way it stands now. It isn't easy as it shouldn't be but it isn't impossible to keep clients. Go to this where you can only fill an order every 2 to 3 days and we will lose what clients we have had.

Breath of Heaven takes 150 alcohol components (whichever alcohol you choose to use), if they limit schematics to 100, we can never, ever make a whole crate of BoH. This is ridiculous. It already takes a lifetime for a factory to spit out a PU36. We can't let this happen!

1000 is a good number, I would like to see it left alone.

Not to negate the problem, but BOH takes 2 stacks of 3 identical alcohols. So you can have 3 crates of one run of alcohols and 3 crates of a different run of alcohols, and still get one crate of BOH. You can, however, never make 2 full crates of BOH with a 100 limit.

Yes, Ida, that's right. I should quit posting when I'm tired.
