Thread: Before they give entertainers a mind buff...
they said in the next patch there were giving entertainers a mind buff. getting mind buffs were the only reason i made a chef since doctors cant buff mind. they are also planning on limiting factory schematics to 100 regardless of what 100% of the crafting professions think.
i dont mind the fact that entertainers are getting a mind buff. but giving entertainers a mind buff that costs them no resources to use(unlike doctor profession for wound healing or buffing) will hurt chefs in a big way since our mind food is currently the only real means of buffing mind even though its only a few minutes.
If they give entertainers big mind buffs they should hold onto the idea until they fix food buffs in general first. in that way they can introduce both at the same time much like how they plan on putting corpse retrieval in when vehicles are introduced. fixing one without the other makes no sense since it would make the only food worth buying limited to pet food and tatooines sunburns.
Before you could watch a dancer, and get up to 700 bonus to mind for double the time you watched (I don't know how long that was max)
You could also listen to a musician, and get the similar effects to focus/willpower.
Both of these had a maximum time limit, but I don't know how much.
Now:
Watching dancers can buff mind up to 1400, for a maximum of 2 hours (still double the time you watch them, I hope)
Listening to musicians can buff focus/willpower, for a maximum of 2 hours (but I'm not sure exactly how much)
This is the equivalent to doctor buffs, As you need a master to really get a benefit out of them.
The fact that they exist is not important. I like them, even as a chef. The amount that they buff is disproportional to the effectiveness of food however, and could use some tweaking.

Was it just me or when I was reading the patch notes did other people notice that the word CHEF was not even mentioned
If you do a search on "food" you get two hits - one about the stack bug and another about pet food. whoopdedoo
It would still be better for my rifleman / ranger character to have a food that is a good buff for mind. It's portable and friendly to him staying in the field for extended periods where the entertainer buff isn't. I don't see this as a detriment to me purchasing food.
