Fishak + Glazed Glucose Pate is a better alternative to Muon imo. No downer, plus food and drink have more in a stack. You can get alot more use out of a crate of those than Muon.

That combo will also counteract the two minute downer of those spices.

I agree with Bash, use that combo INSTEAD of the spicenot to come off the spice.

Neither of my characters have used spice (not very ladylike to puke in public, LOL) but the members of my PA really like the Fishak to counter the Muon downer. I dont' know if they have tried the Pate/Fishak combo yet. I'm not a master chef, so the other chef in the PA provides them with their Fishak.

Nothing matches the power of a muon good for mind/focus/willpower. You can try to combine food and drink to get the same effect, but you will not be able to get the same buff in all 3 stats, plus you can't use the food and drink as often as you could spice. It takes time for the food and drink bars to lower, longer than the spice downer I've noticed.
The point of the question is to find out how to complement the downer of the spice with food. So - use whatever food/drink gives buffs to what the spice downer gives you.
For muon gold downers, I try to make sure to atleast buff my mind with foo/drink, what good are you with 200 mind? Even 400-500 after food/drink keeps me alive during the downer.

I recommend and personally use fishak/ggp or fishak/bivoli instead of muon. The only time that I use spice is in that rare case of needing a little extra mind in a bad fight...and I can't eat or drink anything for a bit.
