I have basically fallen in love with the food and drinks you all provide most of all fishak. I also would like to start a chef as my alter since it would be a great addition the guild and I can never find anyone on kettemoor to take orders. I was wondering how hard the grind is and if you can find resources or are they rare. Also how do you gain exp is it just crafting? My current character is all comabtitive so I should have no problem collecting meats and such so it might compliment each other well.

TIA

You get experience just by crafting. You are also suppose to get experience by people using your food but that doesn't always work.

As far as the best way to grind....check out the stickies at the top of the page.

Thank you sir will do. How about finding resources is it tough? I plan on picking up surveying from what I have read so far.

Thanks I will do that. Just reading the stickies and it seemed like alot of people think the exp is low per item crafted. Is it true it takes a really long time to master even if your a grinder?

I don't think it's TOO BAD (but hey, Im new to SWG, haven't done any other grinds except artisan for some unknown reason hehe). Resource gathering isn't that hard it seems. I have found on naboo, all the resources I need to grind. i.e berries, wheat, corn, water (maybe something else for the bread, cant really recall. ALl I see is wheat, corn + water harvestering in SWG at present). In a week or two of non hardcore grinding, I have achieved up to Mixology 2 and Cooking 2. I harvest my own resources while also using 2 10 BER mineral harvestors to mine minerals to provide the cash flow to support myself. Using the macro that does practices for crafting, you only have to double click (thumb button can be set up on mouse to do this I think) on the resources while running the macro on 3-6 crafting tools.

All in all, I have heard of people totally grinding in just a few days. They'd be the people who have lots of cash to buy out all resources and just grind away. I usually feel insane after 1-2 hrs of non stop grinding. So I do grinding here and there, gaining levels quite quickly considering I only get a few hours at most to play each day. And I haven't been home one weekend since I achieved Novice Chef.

To sum it up, chef isn't that bad to grind if you want to and have all the resources. Read any stickeys to see the best 2-3 items to grind with. People are really starting to see chefs in a great light of late it seems. Perfect timing for me when I hit Master...

All gone. Nothing to see now. Bye Bye Ahazi most of you guys were cool

The grind isnt too bad if you macro though it, even still it is a ton of clicking, and oh the carpel tunnel will start kicking up pretty good if you grind hard and forlong duration at one time. I know my hand was hating me there for a few weeks

If you need any help let me know, or if you would like some of those orders filled in the mean time

For me it was just grind here and there...and hour or two at a time. I made wastril until I have entrees 1, then made stewed gwouch until I have mixology 2, then made Ithorian Mists until master. It worked for me and I mastered chef in about a month of casual play/grinding.

Best advice I can give...get2 medium flora harvestersand 1 medium water harvesterswith a good extraction rates (6+).For cash, run artisan missions, unless you have lots of it.

I did the same, but I did Wastril until MIX 2, made lots of crappy (now that I can make better) Tatooine Sunburns and sold them for money. Got a resource contractor to sell me water and corn and wheat for 2per - hit Ithorian Mists to master.. It took me a good month to hit Master, but I was doing it at my own pace.. 1 box and I would stop for the day/night.. CLICKY CLICKY
