Chef Archive
Thread: I need a little help.
First off let me say that I've read the FAQ's and everything else stickied to the top, so please dont flame me about that *cowers in fear*
Ok so I want to be a chef.(no holo incloved in case you were wondering)I would like to grind there as soon as i can, unfortunately im a little short on creds. So what i need to know is what i should get first that will make me a profit while i work my way to master.
After reading the FAQ and looking at that nifty little website that tells what foods do what i think my best bet would to be get mixology 2 firstso i can sell tatooine sunburns. Then what? I read that its a good idea to mix food and drinks together, so what food might go well with that? Anything that will bring in some $$$ to keep me afloat on my way.
Thanks in advance, and if this has been asked before im sorry, but i did make an effort to look for it.
/agree with Sirvimes
I ran survey missions for almost a day, which gave me about 50,000 credits (assuming you have Pistol 4, if not, you'll make about 25,000 credits). That gives you enough to start up with a solar harvester and 3 organic harvesters, which will get you going well on a solid vein of cerial & fruit.
After that it's your choice to run survey missions to cover the cost of the harvesting (that would cost about 6 survey missions per day to maintain) or sell off your harvest. If your grinding, then you will probably need all the resources you can bring in.
I totally agree about speeding to Mix2 to make Tat Sunburns. That's what I did, although I'm still poor...
Unless they updated it in a patch, the only thing that determins what level missoins you can get is your level of pistol skill. Why? I guess it was easier to code that way? As soon as you hit pistol 4, you get the 1,800 credit missions for more specific resource types (at least I think they're more specific).

ok I could never figure out why I got so much more with one character than another on survey missions...totally off topic but **edit** does pistol 4 have to do with a survey mission?/boggle
Just so you know, it's not just pistol. If you have the "Weapon IV" skillin pistol, rifle, carbine, 1-handed, 2-handed, pike, or unarmed, having an appropriate weapon equipped (or unequipped for unarmed, I guess) gives you the higher level survey missions. I'm going up fencer and get the better missions when I have a sword equipped.
My guess is that they used the same mission difficulty code as the destroy missions. Which is a completely bass-ackwards way of doing it.
