I can actually craft with them on TC-Bria but...
Here's the brandy I made with a barrel..
Health Regen: +432
Action Regen: +200
Mind Regen: +50
Filling: 49
6 Uses
Here's what I got with a cask
Health Regen: +432
Action Regen: +200
Mind Regen: +50
Filling: 49
18Uses
I wasn't trying to make great brandy at all obviously. I just threw all my points into nutrition and then one point into filling for both. My main point/question is...why do barrels only pop out 6 uses and casks to 18? I mean..it's great that I can use a barrel to craft now but... that doesn't seem right.
And it's possible that this has been posted and I just didn't see it ..but if not.. here ya go!

barrels have been bugged for a long time........they give the same bonus as a small glass does. that's why everyone uses casks.besides barrels need a lot of components

Yep, we've always been able to craft and use the barrels, they're just not worth it for an increase in components/cost and a decrease in usage.

I thought that the CU testing was just for the newby professions (brawler, marksman, medic, dancer and stuff) When they put out the bluefrogs, they will probably fix the various problems with crafters, like barrels.

I sure hope they don't. They need to just get rid of them and leave us with our casks.

hrm...every time I tried to use a barrel in live, I got an error about the schematic and it wouldn't let me do anything... oh well... I knew they were bugged but I didn't know exactly how so..
