Thread: Idea for chefs: farms

Here is a thought that popped into my mind. Keep in mind I'm not a chef so what I say may not make much sense, but I'm just thinking of ways to make the game funner for you guys

So the idea is...farm plots. They would be conceptually similar to harvesters, but would allow you to grow ingredients that you normally have to forage. Depending on what planet you place the farm plot on, you would be able to grow different types of ingredients. A new surveying tool could be introduced that reveals soil quality, so that the farms could be placed in prime locations. It would take about a week for the vegetables to grow to full ripeness, then you could use the radial menu to pluck them out. The farms would be "powered" by water resources. Maybe this could even be extended to allow growing container resources, like wheat and other organics. With the CU coming perhaps one of the trees in the chef profession could be devoted to farming, with a higher box in the tree producing a higher yield of the ingredient.
So what do you chefs think? I personally think it would add to the immersion of the profession, but of course I'm interested in hearing from those who would have to deal with this stuff.

I remember them talking about this way back when, farms for breeding meat. I think it was thrown out the window due to taking away something from rangers.

Sounds great 
But i think this is very detailed content. Soe got other things on there minds with the CU and rotw coming. Perhaps an idea for the future.
