Thread: Uhhhhhh novices are competing with chefs now?

Mind you I have only pondered on this one for a few minutes:

Novice sunburns whores are making 12 charges when they were making 4 before. A factor of 3.

I'm a master chef and I'm making 15 charges when I made 8 before. A factor of just under 2.

/shrug I don't know how this is going to effect my own sales, but it seems like something is wrong here to me. Maybe master level items will become more popular with more charges to offset this? /shrug

I dont think it will be that bad, chances are you are more expedient in production, and more convienent as you will carry more items.

I am a novice chef with cooking 1 and mixology 2.. it is NOT that easy to make TSs with over 4 charges. You need to get great experimentation results.. I rarely come out with more than 4. I did have a 14 once this morning out of 30 tries.. that was pretty cool.

yeah, i was wondering about that myself this morning when my charges jumped from 1-4 to 9-12. at first i thought the higher skilled chefs would be making something like 30+ charged ones, then i realized that what the change did was just add nine across the board. which does seem unfair.

i still say the best fix for this is to move tatooine sunburn to a master item. it makes much more sense for it to be there.

Hey Aiyia - better change your sig.. powerups are once again broken from factories... don't think anyone will pay for a crate of those just yet...

On another note - i don't think they increased it by 9.. I have a hard time getting more than 4 uses from a TS unless I am lucky..

Oddler, it's gonna sound like I'm trying to rain on your parade...and I'm not, but it seems to me that what you speak of is not the problem. It seems to me that the REAL problem is the fact that a Master and a Novice are in competition. Sunburn is not a master item. The fact that we are making the same item for cash (I'm a novice BTW) tell me that the higher items are not as good as they need to be. I think instead of looking at the symptoms we need to diagnose the problem. And that is that there simply is not enough GOOD stuff at the higher tiers.

My guess is it will stay where it is, but the bonuses will be reduced once foods are given a balance pass.

The numbers are off; not the food placement, imo.

It's a catch-22. Because Tat Sunburn isthe only really great buffingthing we can make, of course people want itso any Chef who wants to make some money (or just pay for their harvesters without running missions all the time) will make it. Combine that with the fact that it's only in Mix II and you've got problems. One or the other needs to be fixed.

I would prefer they move the schematic and leave it as is. Consider the amount that spice can buff and that doctors can buff you and I think you will agree that the numbers need to stay high. But high level buffs should be in the upper skill boxes otherwise what's the point? Hopefully this is the kind of issue they'll address in the balance pass (the first of many I suspect).

Re: Novices competing with chefs now - yeah I'm picky but Mix II + cooking levels (for experimentation) is not "novice"; I'd be more concerned with the fact that Master Artisans can experiment the stuffings out of items in the domestics line and come up with better itemsthan what a Chef can make(except for a few, notably the Sunburn).
