Thread: Ideas on improving the class

I realize many if not all of these ideas have already been touched upon, but I'd like to see how they look all together.

1. Eliminate the food/drink bars. Replace with a numerical filling value (say, 100) and add how much of that value is used in the stats of the food. The value for that type of food would remain constant, so a well made Bofa Treat will fill you up just the same as a poorly made Bofa Treat. I think asking the value to be experimental would be a little too tough to be implimented. Also, the value on any given item would be based off the average duration ofits effect.

2. Make food effects last longer. I don't wanna see any single food item lasting for less than five minutes, and even then it would be for snacks. I'm thinking 10-15 minutes for most foods.

3. Allow the queuing of food comsumption. Meaning, if I eat one Bofa Treat I want to be able to automaticly eat another onewhen the effect on the firstwears off.

4. A buff window to keep track of what food effects I have on me and how much longer they'll last. Also handy for spice effects and medic buffs. Why was this not implimented in the first place?

I love the numerical display idea. But just so you know, the "filling effect" of foods is currently affected by experimentation on the "Flavor and Texture" category. I tested this theyesterday with a few stacks of synthsteaks. First I made a stack of synthsteaks with only the initial value (in this case it was 6%). Then I made a stack where I dumped all my experimentation into that category, getting it up to 21%. I could only eat 2 of the 6% steaks, with about 1/4th of my fullness bar empty. I waited 15-20 minutes, took a drink to reset the bars and check it was empty. I was able to eat 3 of the 21% steaks, and the bar was almost all the way full. I wasn't able to determine whether or not the fullness bar went down any faster or slower, since it isn't refreshing. But if it's less filling (apparently from tasting great and digests faster with a longer duration, I think I'm going to start paying more attention to the flavor of my ingredients.

Another great idea.

People who are lugging around some hefty amor and actually need food or spicesto wear it would be very grateful so they can continually wear their armor over a longer period of time.

You don't need to keep eating the food to wear the armor, you only need to eat the food to put on the armor. After it's on it stays on, even if your stats drop. Only reason you'd need to eat multiple servings would be if you took the armor off and wanted to put it back on.

Undo the eating-during-combat nerf.

Used to be, at least it wasn't so bad that our buffs were short, a person could eat another of whatever it was during combat if the first one wore off. No longer.

Eating during combat should be permitted, or the buffs should be longer.

I like all the ideas except for #3. I mean, I would prefer to eat several bofa treats at once and get the combined effects of them.

I agree that we need longer durations on just about everything. Evenusing maxduration experimentation, most food only lasts about 5 mins max.

The status bar is great idea. I think everyone would like that.

Who says you can't still do that? Just add a "queued comsumption" option to food's radial menu.

I especially like this idea here. People who are lugging around some hefty amor and actually need food or spicesto wear it would be very grateful so they can continually wear their armor over a longer period of time.
