Ahh...darn enter key.
Anyway I have a few questions.
I recently learned of the whole entire resource shifting deal, which I didnt really understand fully.
Now the question about it. If im at a place where the concentration for something is lets say 85%, should I plug down several harvesters to get as much out of a high concentration as I can till it shifts? Doing this may limit me to gathering one resource per few days, but It would yield a high number. Or should I place down harvesters on different types of resources to collect the various resources I need at once, but in smaller quantities.
Second, everytime the resources shift should I just pick up my harvesters and place them down elsewhere? cause there are cases where I see harveters or generators down in a place for long periods of time, even if there is not a high concentration by the harvesters, or hell, the resource (such as radioactive) may not be available on the planet? Are these jsut forgetful people who fail to either check or remember they have harvesters placed down, or is it better to leave the harvester where it is in the case the resources may shift to what they once where and you can continue harvest.
Basically im asking how should I work placing harvesters down to compensate with the resources shifting about once a week?

yes.. when you see something that is really good.. throw everything you have at it.......a serious chef or resource miner uses the current resource database at swgcraft.com ...with this your able to see what is currently spawning on your server..with stats...
currently i have 10 heavys on some godly greens and they been there for 18days
....when the resource shifts (usually 5-10+ days) you move your harvs to something esle that is good...rinse and repeat till you got what ya need.....
as a starting chef..you might want to spread out your harvs on different resources to get everything you need to get started....then switch to the strip mining tactic lol
those harvs that you see that are in one spot all the time are "static " harvs....these are usually lots that the person has either through lots swaps with other players on different planets or alternate character lots....they dont move and just gather whatever is the highest concentration...
also...invest in heavys harvestors...as soon as possible ...dont mess with personals or medium if you can afford to buy heavys.

As a new chef - do both. Spread out in the beginning, get medium bits of the decent stuff. When something spectacular spawns - shift everything to that, you may not get another crack at something that great again. It will take a few months, but you'll eventually have a good stock of what you need, and usually there's at least one B+ spawn of most organics up at any given time. Definitely consider swgcraft your new best friend.
Oh, I leave harvesters up sometimes after stuff shifts. Not cross-server lot trading... just extremely lazy.
