After a few weeks of hard grinding (my macro didn't work) I finally mastered chef. Then i got a plus +25 exp tape, and put it on a non-decay ubese shirt. So far i have really enjoyed chef, but I have a few questions.

bah, something very weird happened there. Anyway.......

1. The additives, I don't fully understand them, it seems obvious that they enhance the drinks stats, but which ones do I use?

2. Experimentation, in what order should I experiment?

3. Pre-Cu I had a friend who was a chef, he said the barrels were bugged, is this still true?

Thnx, any answers would be appreciated!

1. Okay...

There are four stats you can boost through using a BE Additive or regular crafting experimentation.

  • Nutrition (Buff quality)

  • Flavor (Buff Duration)

  • Quantity (Stack Size)

  • Filling (Delay until you can reuse, assuming a full stomach)

They each come in 3 different strengths: Light, Medium, and Heavy.

Which one you use depends mostly on what food or drink you are making. Secondly it depends on your target customer. Is this going to be for a PvE person? Smaller boost for Longer Buff Duration? Or PvPer -> Bigger Boost for Shorter Buff Duration. Or maybe for the newbie, smaller or no additive to make it more affordable? Emphasis on higher stack size perhaps?

It also depends on the quality of your resource, and how you plan to experiment and what your goal is for that attribute...which then goes back and depends greatly upon what you're making in the first place.

2. Well, if you have a primary goal, you go for that too. If you're a stickler for Amazing Successes on Experimentation, that makes that part a bit easier. Otherwise the order is up to you. If you have a goal it doesn't really matter How you get there as long as thats where you end up. But it also depends on what you're making in the first place.

3. Yes, they're still bugged. Casks give the most use per stack for drinks atm. Very low on the priority for Chef fixes, since thats been bugged since *cough* launch?

Edit: Feel free to ask any specific questions if you have them. But these are the sorts of questions you can learn for yourself in-game IMO. Not trying to slight you, just saying a little self-discovery goes a long way. But we all need a little help now and then.
