Thread: can chefs place cantinas?

I remeber reading something about it, but I was also told that only dancers/entertainers could.

They have to be placed in a city though, correct?

Does the same hold true for merchant tents?

yes chefs can place canitinas and merchant x/4/x/x can place a merchant tent

Merchant tents can be placed anywhere. Cantinas do have to be placed in a player city, but if the city later gets disbanded (or shrinks and leaves the cantina outside city limits), the cantina won't go "poof", so it is possible for an existing cantina to not be in a player city.
