I am a doctor/chef. I recently made some bivoli that was +24.2, then I used it and tried buffing it had no effect on my buffs. So my question is, does bivoli have to be +25, for it to work or am I doing something wrong? Also my quantity is at 2, how do I get an extra from combine? Or do I have to put an extra exp point in it? Thanks.

What buff numbers were you getting before using Bivoli? What numbers were you getting after eating it? IIRC, +24 Bivoli should add around 200-250 to the buff size (and maybeincrease duration)if everything else remains the same. You don't have to hit +25 to get it to work (unlike Havla which doesn't do anything until it gets over 100), Doctors just like the bigger numbers. In practice, the difference between +24 and +25 is only around 10 to the buff size.
You'll never get three uses on the initial combine, you have to experiment Quantity up to around 40% experimentation to get three uses, so it'll take 2-3 experimentation points.

Well, comments from doctors to me on our server are that anything under +25 on the bivoli is not effective. I sure know it doesn't sell.
I always post +25.172 or +25.389 Bivoli. I can tell you from testing that the difference of 25.172 to 25.389 is practically nothing and so put your extra point or two into duration or that might give someone the point or two needed to go from 2 uses to 3. On my flora/meat/BE combination it takes 2 points to move from 2 uses to 3. I then use 8 pts on nutrition and my remaining 2 pts on duration (12 pt chef). +25.172 for 15m 48s, 3 uses each. If I can get an additional amazing success in duration I can get up over 16m, which is my preference.
The other comment I will make on bivoli not working, or the perception that it does not work, is if the doctor using it was in a player city with Medical Center designation. It would seem even the +25 stuff does not do much (if anything) when used in the player city that is medical center. Perhaps those buffs are already maxed out? Comments on this?

I'm pretty sure bivoli still adds a bonus in a Medical Center. I'm not sure if a new bivoli bug has crept up that has <+25 not working but I used to have a doctor toon and used homemade +24 bivoli to achieve almost the same bonus as +25 stuff. My memory sucks tho, so take that with a grain of salt
You're right about there being no difference between +25.172 and +25.389; it's my understanding that the bonus works with integers (i.e. your total wound healing skill is rounded before it is used to calculate the final stat from the buffs). I'm interested in finding out for sure about +24 biv tho... I always make +25, 3 use stuff but if there is a bug I'd feel better knowin' about it

I'm very sure that all the decimals are rounded down. 25.0 is the same as 25.1432, is the same as 25.3452 is the same as 25.9999
And I read somewhere on the Doc/Medic Forum, that there is a bug with Medical Center city specialization. I'm not sure what does not stack there, but something does not, and your buffs are actually less then if you do it outside one, using a 110% droid, BE clothes and bivoli.
Might be the reason why.

I heard this bug happens when you get killed while under the bivoli effect.
So don't use it when overt or TEFed

Ikooga is correct. Bivoli decimals round down. Also, +24 biv and +25 biv are - like Kriles said - not that different. You want to get +25 if you can, but it really doesnt add much to your buffs. If the docs on your server say otherwise, then it is most likely just a misconception. There are a lot of misconceptions about food out there, which is not helped by the fact that several foods are slightly misleading in their descriptions. But I can assure you that +24 Bivoli will indeed increase your buffs dramatically over non-bivoli buffs.....all things being equal.
So the question is....what is the problem? Not sure on that one. Wearing all your clothes? In a med center? Using a droid? Rating on the droid? Med city? If you have any of these details throw them our way and we will try and help you figure it out.

I had some odd buff numbers a couple of days ago. I always buff in our med center city, with droid, clothes & Bivoli. I noticed my buffs were around 100 points less than they should have been.
I didn't have a chance to test it at the time because we were just about to go on a raid, but I'll do some testing over the weekend to see if it's stil lhappening.
