Does synthsteak work?

if so, will it stack with armor?

And to cover some other stuff:

  • It won't stack with Flameout (which gives the same type of benefit).

  • It will last for X attacks or 60m, whichever comes first.

  • The damage reduction is already included in your combat spam "Mob hits you for Y damage". So when it later says "Z damage was mitigated by defensive buffs", that's just informational.

  • The damage reduction is done before your armor does anything. So if you have a 25% reduction synthsteak and get hit for 1000 damage, you'll see "you were hit for 750 damage", then the 50% reduction from armor (if hit by something that's AP0) and resistence percentage starts from the 750 damage, not the original 1000. This is why if you add up the numbers in your combat spam (X damage, Y blocked by armor, Z mitigated by synthsteak) you'll sometimes get X < Y + Z.

I think synthsteak is pretty useful for general PvE stuff. Now if I could just get my hands on some micronutrient tissues to boost the reduction (everyone seems to be focusing on Broad Spectrum with a smattering of Nanonutrients).

I managed +35% reduction using light additives, but some of my resources were harvested for pre-patch stats :/

Heres what I do:

I get 3 schems at a timefrom my local BE, one for each nutrition type (micro, broad, nano). I use my best meat and flora for the broads and nanos, but swap out mediocre meat for the micros. Making Synthsteak, I've noticed the difference between say a 50 micro and a 54 micro is somewhat negligible, so I don't really try to shoot for anything over 50 for micros (since the quality of the supplementsbecomes more evident in the final productproportionally as you move from light to heavy).

My standard is 40% dmg reduction for at least 30 hits. If my ingredients allow, I will push the stack size to 5, but I personally think trying to hit 45% isn't worth it since you have to neglect stack size and duration too much.

Non-BE stuff is 25%, and sells reasonably well.

At 40%, this stuff flies off the shelves at 75k-85k a crate.

I agree that the difference between a 54 and a 50 Micro isnt alot.

With 57 Micro I can get 48%...

Normally I get 45 Percent .. 5 Uses .. 31 attacks.

Bio Enhanced.

From my customer feed back I hardley ever put in more than one point into quantity... They much rather have power..but that is MY customer base.

I charge 87.5k for bio enhanced and sell out all the time. I really dont make many non bio enhanced foods any more... I just dont have the time.

Since Synthsteak has no duration but rather affects only a number of attacks, is it possible to stack it? For example, when you eat 2, does that double the number of attacks from whihc youare protected or does it double the level of protection? In other words, let say I have TWO pieces of synsteak withthe following stats: damage reduction: 40%, number of attacks affected: 30. If I eat BOHTof them, will it increase my damage reduction to 80%, or the number of attacks to 60? Anyone know?

You can't stack it. If you try to eat more of it while it's still providing a benefit, you'll get a message to the effect that eating more won't give you any additional benefit.

not really.. first, it does have a 60minute duration, or rather a window in which you have to use its effects so because of filling there'd still only be so much you can stack

That said, it doesn't matter because you get a system message stating you can't eat another synthsteak becasue you are "already under the effects" of the previous one. You also get this message if you try eating anything else with this effect so you can't stack synthsteak+flameout for example.

Tip for using Synthsteak. Eat it beforehand, say you are going to kill Nightsisters. Eat it when you're on corellia before to port onto Dathomir, that way by the time you get onto Dathomir and start killing NS, your stomach will be empty again but you'll still have the benifit of the synthsteak because of its long duration.
