i just heard from a customer that he tried parwan nutricake, but since he had some state effects on him it didn't work. it did, however, let him eat it, so he got the disadvantage (the filling) but not the advantage of the burstrun. that was the first time i've heard of this, i've only ever used parwan myself to test it out, never in a combat situation. just wanted to get the word out, if this is true. has anybody else ever had this happen?

Are there states that prevent you from burst run (I don't do a lot of combat)? Other than being too tired from a previous burst, that is.
I'd say bug it, either having
1) If a player isn't allowed to burst run due to a state effect, attempting to eat nutricake should fail (not using up a charge and not adding to filling)
2) If a player is allowed to burst run, nutricake should always cause them to burst run (states shouldn't block the effect of nutricake)
Any details on what state(s) was/were the culprit?

i do seem to recall getting a 'you cannot burstrun while dizzy' message once, not with parwan but just trying to outrun a piket. i'll mess around with this myself this weekend, have my TK toon make my chef toon dizzy, blind, stunned, etc *giggle*
the report that it *did* let him eat it, and took up stomach filling, is what got me interested enough to post. sounds like a bug to me.

Yes, this is correct - you cannot burst run when dizzy. It's a great ranged method for keeping meleers from burst running within kd range.

I tried to eat a K-18 Ration (Artisan burstrun food) on the Corvette, and got a message about the artificial gravity disrupting its effect; not sure of the exact wording.

my boyfriend and i tested this last night. i made him blind, could still burst run. stunned him, could still burst run. but, when i made him dizzy, he was able to eat parwan, but didn't in fact burstrun. he didn't get a message about not being able to, either, sounds quite buggy to me.
i was buffed to be sure i'd win the duels, naturally. he wasn't. well, during one of the tests he was able to eat the parwan, but then got a message about not having enough pool points to burstrun.
so, we confirmed two situations where you do eat a serving of parwan, and get stomach filling, but don't get the benefit of the parwan: being dizzy, or not having enough pool points to burst. makes sense in that you can't use a normal burstrun in those situations either, but i'd expect a message and that the food would *not* get eaten.
