Do I need Master Artisan for any food?

Also would I still be able to be a 14pt Chef (I am human) if I dropped Master Artisan and just kept the Chef line (obviously!)

Cheers

Nope, if you look in the skill box, all the Exp points for artisan are in the Engineering and Dom Arts line. No master required for other than the schems and i think a extra Surveying Bonus.

Master Artisan gives no food schems, and grants no extra artisan experimentation. So to cover all the artisan foods, you only need 4400 artisan (Dom Arts for the food schems and four experimentation points, and Engineering to get all the artisan experimentation bonuses).

The business line is important for selling your goods (need at least business 3 to get your first vendor, and merchant skillsare definitely handy for increased inventory), and surveying is useful to ease the resource search. But as far as food is concerned, 4444 Artisan is exactly the same as Master Artisan, so unless you want to branch out into vehicles or components, you might as well drop it and save the 6 skill points.

Oh, and just so you know, there's no such thing as a "14 point chef". As a human, you can be a "14 point artisan" and use those points to make food, but it's not quite the same. A nitpicky detail, but that's the kind of guy I am.

Firstly thanks for the answer.

Sorry I know you can't be a 14pt Chef. I meant Artisan.

I will drop Master and go to 4400. I already ahve a char who is Master Merchant so I don't need anymore. I just wanted to move my skills around with the final respec as I had Master Chef on a non human but had to do all my artisan food on my other char.
