Your template will be fine and a lot of fun. As for xp, find lvl 80 hunting groups at your servers grinding spot (dantooine, lok, or where ever, and heal only...don't use your weapon as that will split the xp between the two. Have fun.
Also, offensive cm abilities such as your poisons and debuffs, don't give you any xp, only heals do.

Yeah, the CM skills are great for Special forces activites! I hope I didn't just help a rebel though!

Offensive CM abilities do not take away exp either. Once you've laid a heal on a player feel free to debuff, neurotox, or set afire the MOB they're fighting. Just don't hit them with a ranged or melee attack, otherwise a portion of the alloted exp for that creature will be shifted to combat exp of some sorts.

I too am switching to CM because I think it will go better with my Master Swordsman than Mater Doc does (I need the paralyze ability for pvp). How do you go about gettin xp for the crafting meds part.. at first glance it seems like this will take 4EVER.
pls advise.

There is no crafting needed anymore for combat medic (all the crafting is bio-engineer). You need ranged healing from medic and ranged support from marksman to be a combat medic. All the xp (except ranged support) that you need is healing and you gain it like I posted above.

Answer's in the Chef FAQ, above. Short answer: make whatever takes the most resources but few types. IE - 20 of this, 25 of that so you don't have to procure so many different types of resources. Make everything in practice mode.

I ground Novice to Master just making Alcohol, I cant say I'd recommend that but it worked for me cus I could speed the macro up to absolute optimum only using 1 ingredient. And I harvested the cerial while is was grinding to keep the cost down. One High Cap Floral harvester on a 70% spawn of rubbish cerial kept me going in resourcefor most of the grind.
