Oof, that's pretty broad. My advice would be to browse and read over the first 5-10 pages of posts here on the forum. It'll give you a great idea of what's selling, what's working, what people are buying, and what people are eating for which effects. There are also several posts that give information on which foods/drinks do what. The stickies are another great place to start because I'm sure the whole system is new to you again, all the way down to the new HAM bars.

We have this new thing that enables us to use any bazaar terminal in a major city to browse the stock of all vendors that choose to advertise their wares on a galaxy-wide level. If you go to the "vendor location" tab on the bazaar terminal and then search all planets for foods and drinks, you should be able to come up with a pretty complete list of what everybody else is making, and in turn, plan a menu for yourself.

Resource hunting will be a challenge. It takes most people quite a while to stockpile enough high quality resources to really become proficient in this craft, but it never hurts to play around with lower quality stuff while you're in the process of finding better, just so that you can get a feel for the functions of different items.

Read over what you have the patience to read over, and then maybe come up with a list of questions that are a bit more specific so that we can all help tackle them for ya.

How familiar with the crafting process were you before you left?

Good to see someone come back

I think the poster before me had some good ideas.

Don't fear though. It will take time to get the quality resources needed to be top notch, however that doesn't mean you can't make money .

First it sounds like you lost most everything .

I'd suggest some quick artisan missions from Moenia to Deeja Peaks. This will generate you some initial income to get you started. ( If you have JTL now, you can make some good money in space selling the loot you get to the chassis dealer in starports...that is if you like the space game its a good money maker. )

I'd post on your Galaxies forum, stating that you are returning. You might be surprised someone might donate something to get you started.

How I got started before becoming a pretty good chef is that I made what I could and sold it cheap . I had a break when a BE made a deal with me. ( However if you can do the space thing, you might be able to get enough money for some initial outlay. )

Now some cheap stuff that sells good:

Money Makign Idea: Bofa Treats and Blob Candy. Not very resource intensive ( yes I know not chef foods ). However these sell pretty good off my vendors even when I don't use tissues on them. Now the price on Lowca I'm sure will differ from Wanderhome. Use the new vendor search thing and see what they go for. Also note that you can sell on the bazaar for up to 20,000 credits now ( they raised the limit ). You can probably find stuff on grind vendors that you can make this decent enough for low cost.

Be careful about using your vendors for storage. You now have a maximum number of items that you can have on vendors, and this counts stuff in backpacks. If you are a master merchant I doubt you'll have any trouble ( With my Chef/Merchant I have a pretty good selection and still am only about halfway to my limit...I also dabble in power ups and tools though )
