All right, the previous sticky thread has stuck around for almost nine months now, and I've been wanting to clean up the stickies for a while. New thread!

Chef References:

  • Chef FAQ

  • www.swgcraft.com (of course). If you don't check this site regulary (and update it if possible) you could be spending far too much time surveying for new resource stats (or missing out on some good stuff).

  • Chef Tissue FAQ (By Zadokk)

  • Food chart 1 (organized by skill box). This also includes recipes for BE tissues at the bottom.

  • Bugged foods. If you're starting out as chef (or branching out to new recipes), you may want to check this list for any known problems.

Customer Reference:

  • Food chart 2 (organized by buff type). The numbers given are a little incorrect, and do not include additives (which can increase buff size by 1.55, 1.85, or 2.15 times, depending on allowed size).

  • Buff planner (Excel spreadsheet, please right-click and save as), with explanatory post.

  • Food 101 (general food tips and tricks)

  • Food screenshots (handy if you're looking for decorations)

Crafting Reference:

  • Basic crafting guide

  • Estei's guide to experimentation. Some parts are specific to armorsmith, but a lot of good info on how resource stats affect experimentation.

  • Resource stat caps, based on historical data from swgcraft.com. This shows what appears to be the maximum stat value for a resource category, letting you see whether that 699 resource is good or not.

I wish I could make the title big, bold, bright red, and (possibly) blinking. Sadly, titles are restricted.

And it looks like if I turn off the WYSIWYG editor option in my forum profile, it keeps the HTML coding on editing an existing post. That'll come in handy.

Oh, by the way:

If you have any useful links/references/tools, feel free to post them here. I'll try my best to keep the first post updated with additions. Although if anyone has any info on how to edit a post and retain the html code, I'd love to hear it. Right now, I default to the graphical editor, which strips the link tags on editing. Adding the bullet point, then going to "Edit as html" to re-add the link code might get painful if this gets any longer...

And sciguy use Firefox.

It doesn't support the graphical interface, so its always edit as HTML.

I'm new to chef and crafting. Cant thank you enough for the food charts, they are so helpful and finally understand about food additives now. Luckily have a very good friend who is aBE ... also the amount of xp given is a huge help for grinding. Well done and thanky for the hard work put into this.

Some are, some aren't, some didn't change.

Food chart 1 does have the post-CU numbers. Food chart 2 doesn't (although there are a few post-CU charts floating around organized the same way). The FAQ could use some updates (the grind tip about crafting soypro in non-practice mode and eating them doesn't work anymore). The chef tissue FAQ and tissue stat calculator are still valid for food tissues (only tailor tissues got some changes).

I wasn't sure if Higginsis was going to do his own sticky, so I've been putting off exerting the effort to update my post.

I'm working on a new FAQ as we speak, it should be up sometime next week, work commitments permitting.

Hello

I'm very new at chef, and respec'd to master.. I was wondering do those experimental, assembly tapes still necessary to be a good chef? And to be completely honest, I really don't understand how that all works, even after reading this guide. Please, any help would be wonderful.

Thank you!
