Thread: Is master artisan essential in a chef template?

I am making a chef template right now and am looking at Master Chef, Master Bio Engineer, and novice merchant, with artisan 4440. I do plan on stocking some of the artisan foods and am curious, is master artisan essential? Next question is when experimenting on those artisan foods is it important to have an artisan experimentation suit? Or will the 11 points granted from being a human artisan be sufficient?
Also no worries on trim as I have an armorsmith alt that can make it.

Can you reach an 11-point artisan with a human character if you do not become a master artisan???Not flaming you at all, just at work right now, so I can't confirm this...but I believe that you will only be a 9-point artisan if you do not reach master artisan with a human character.

As a Human I have 11 points with the Engineering tree and the Domestic Arts tree. There is no bonus to artisan Exp at Master, just those 2 trees. To be higher than 11 points you will need Artisan Exp CA's

Yes foods are one of the only proffesions right now actually useing all there exp pts and then some.

Master Artisan is not necessary, you don't get any food/drink schematics from it and there are no exp points there either. I'm managing quite well with only 11 point for my artisan food, but I wouldn't mind finding a +5 tape to get the next point aswell.

just need 4400 do have 10 but if your human you get 11 plus if you get the extra exp points you ca reach 13 or 14 i think

I'm at 13, and yes you can reach 14

Yep, I'm 4443 Artisan and my +25 Artisan Experimentation suit gives those 14experimentation slots just fine...

14pt blob is nice, also makes excellent crispic, as well as spiced tea.

Human get +15 Artisan Exp, therefore when anyone else has 100 Artisan Exp (10pts) humans have 11.5 but you can only use 11. So if you get a +5 artisan exp tape then your 12pt, and like Cafa said, a +25 will get you 14pt artisan.
