There's a decent spawn of milk on Kauri right now, and I was thinking about putting out a contract for milk. What does everyone usually pay their hunters?

I usually pay my hunters 50cpu for milk for Pikata Pie which has a good ASP and stats are meaningless for the milk used.

What do you plan on making with this?

I plan on mainly making Blue Milk, but will probably make a few of the other dishes/drinks that use milk...just to have a variety of things on my vendor.

Milking isn't a hard task, but it's tedious. That's what you're paying for. I spent some time on Dantooine last week milking Pikets (a good candidate since you can get missions for them off the terminals, they're non-aggro, and drop between 100 and 200 units per creature). I got roughly 2k milk per hour, and my eyes were starting to bleed after 10k. Considering a dedicated combat character can pull in roughly 150k per hour just taking solo missions (real solo, not solo-group), you mightneed to offer around 75 cpu to make it worth their time (although I'm sure some players may do it for cheaper).

Plus, domesticated tat milk only comes from two creatures: domestic eopies (which only show up with random settler spawns) and dwarf banthas. I'm not sure what the milk rate of dwarf banthas are, but it's probably not more than 100 units per creature.

If you just need milk for Bantha butter, you're much better off not worrying about quality. Even for non-butter recipes requiring milk, I've found it's easier to just bite the bullet, take whatever milk you can get in high quantity, and try to compensate with good stats in the other resources.

i dont know, i just get a huge list of rangers and tell them get me milk for 50cpu and I usually get 100k of it, so i see no problem with lowering price, dont over pay
