Thread: Flora harvs and concentration percentages

Hello Chefs! I am new to the chef world but not new to crafting. What percentage does a resource have to reach before you consider dropping a harvester on it? It's not too hard to find a mineral deposit well over 80%, but I have rarely seen a gas deposit over say 50%. What is a good % for Chef resources (wheat and such)? Also, before I go, I nearly soiled myself when I read the thread "egb/'''ghhnm;/".

Howdy.
As far as I've found, flora doesn't have much of a "concentration cap" like you see with ore or gas. Although the "hills" can be pretty shallow, so you can go halfway across a planet following that "resource survey" waypoint.
I usually aim for concentrations in at least the high 70s to mid 80sfor flora, mid 60s for water (grind quality needed for additives, good stuff for a few recipes), and low 80s for crystalline gems (grind quality needed for drink containers). You can find +90% concentrations of flora, although I usually don't have the time in-game to scour the planet for them.

I figured it was something along those lines, I just didn't want to walk away from a 60% concentration of Veggies thinking "I can do better than that" just to learn that 60% was actually totally uber! Err...don't really follow your comment about the "hills". Thanks for the quick response, though!

Hills - think of the resources when your surveying like a Topo map (a lot easier to 'see' when u have survey 4). Some spawns have steep hills where it goes from a 20% to 50% concentration in a few hundred meters. others have broad hills where it may take a few thousand meters to get to the top.

There's no cap on Gas either. I had the blind luck of finding a 93% 991oq Inert gas spot, followed immediately by a 95% 999oq Reactive under my harvies when it shifted out
