Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that the "global vendor search" has been pushed to Testcenter.
Some items of note:
- The vendor search was added as a new bazaar tab, so there is still separation between bazaar sales and vendor sales. You can see a screenshot of the new interface here.
- Remote delivery is not included. You can buy an item from the bazaar, but you must go pick it up.
- Prices are not listed on the main results listing. You can, however, see the item prices by going into the item details. This does mean that a customer won't be able to do a "sort by price" and pick the lowest, they have to dig for it.
- Search results includes any entrance fee on the shop to reduce griefing possibilities (although I suppose you could still purchase something from a shop that has banned you).
My main concern with the new global search is category organization. 99% of food and drinks will be stuck in "Factory crates" along with crates of powerups, stims, slicing tools, etc. 90% of loot stuff will be in "Misc -> Generic items". I was really hoping for an actual query system where I could type "Agitator motor" into a text box and get back a listing of vendors having one for sale.

Still a very handy addition though. The interface may not be perfect but it beats running round to loads of vendors, well I suspect it will. Can't wait for it to hit live.

Showing prices = bad. It will ruin crafters. Itd be like having combat people able to see each others equipment, skills, and foods consumed and such. Blah.

I think the factory crate thing is gonna be a problem.
Last time I checked (this morning) on TC, there were 1500+ listings for all kinds of factory crates. Imagine the number to wade through on a live server. I think most customers are going to stick with their usual dependable chefs, rather than try to find what they want in that morass. Which is actually great for the good chefs who stock well and were worried about price undercutting. Bad though if you are trying to open up your market to more people.

not too worried, i have alot of return customers, and my shop is in a fairly large guild town, and my prices are reasonable. before i was a chef, i went to the same person over and over. im sure lots of people find a dedicated chef and stick with him/her.
