Thread: Lover of Crafts, but Weilder of None
For the resorces, you have enought money to get it all. Just dont buy of the bazaars, i did that and spent about a mill, instead of about 400k at a grind shop.
Good Luck

ok out of DE, Chef, AS, WS, Arch and tailor. I would really chose the one you like best. Any of them are going to give you money if you do them right. But for the fun part its really what you enjoy. I like making food and would hate to do armor smith and keep making the same thing over and over again but its really your mood.

I'd certainly agree that Chef is more fun than Armoursmith. The variety of products you can make, and the combinations that you can invent, added to the possibility of custom orders that are challenging but achievable, and that open your eyes to new possibilities... yeah, it's a fun profession.
I'm an AS because I quit Chef due to crafting burnout, and when I rediscovered my urge to craft, I just wanted to try something new. Every time I stick another load of Kinetic Comp in the factories, I'm tempted to flog all my resources and get back to Chef, but I haven't done everything I want to as an AS....yet ![]()

Well, I did go chef and I'm 0401 now. Someone in my guild was going to go chef, but took a different route so I only ended up spending like 100k on resources. Also, about going with one or two items, I was going to do that. My question was would people buy it without being a 12 point chef and/or having the best resources? Oh, another thing, I've heard of a chef's apron that gives bonuses, is this a specific item or is it just BE'd clothing?
The Chef's apron is a specific item. It's made using the "Crafter's Apron" schematic reward from Jabba's theme park, which can be used by a Master Tailor. It's random which type of apron the schematicwill make(there are several types) but you should be able to buy the Chef version reasonably cheaply. It gives +5 to Food experimentation and assembly, so it's a good start to becoming an 11pt Chef.
And yes, people will buy non-12pt food, you just have to price accordingly. With the reduction in stomach timer, 10pt brandy is far more viable (IMO) than it used to be, since you'll already be clearing the 30-minute timer without any experimentation, and can put all your points into getting 50-fill and a good bonus. You just need to do some research on the other Chefs, and see how prices are on your server. Filling a niche in the market is also handy, if you can identify certain products that people are having trouble finding.
Edit: I haven't done much combat-related stuff recently, so I don't actually know if the 30-min timer has gone live, or is just coming in soon.
