Well, got the Jedi template all sorted out. This freed up my time this weekend to test some foods. Already have Ahrisa and Kiwik Clusjo Swirl on the vendors, YAY! Here is some of my thoughts from this weekend.....
I, for the most part, have abstained from posting any doom and gloom threads until i got the chance to check it out for myself. I personally feel that chef is going to be a viable profession in the CU. I feel that chef may become even more viable since we are the "uber buffs" of the game surpassing the Doctor profession.
It does seem that the most used nutrientwill be shiftingfrom Broad Specs to Intellegent Nanonutrients. My evaluation of the list tells me that the most pertinent foods will probably be those requiring Nanos. This will cause the demand of nutrient flora to increase and may affect the pricing of foods for those that can't set 70 harvesters when the time is right.
Ialso wonder what the effect will be on creature resources, specifically meat.It seems that in the CU, hunting is slower. If it takes more time and effort to collect a smaller amount of meat, I would expect the price of meat to increase. I am wondering if anyone has seen any changes since the CU in flora or meat prices?
I do not see any reason for doom and gloom. It appears to me that Chef, once the CU is figured out by all professions, will be extremely successful once again. I for one am ejoying checking out and testing the new variety of foods that I will soon have on my vendors.

I've sold 35 million worth of food since the CU, I think it's still just fine ![]()
And I'm not so sure about the Heavy Additives, I'm probably using a fairly even number of all 3... a lot of new foods I'm making take Light add's...
