Thread: Interesting results with components

Well, I've just been fiddling about with making different stuff, to find how much experimentation is helping them, and ran into this:

Two meatlumps, one I experimented the soypro, the other I didnt:

32% nutrition with experimented soypro: +122 constitution

32% nutrition with un-experimented soypro: +102 constitution

So the components dont affect the max experimentation levels, but they do affect the stats. I got several other interesting facts, but they're not for this thread... I'm going to be doing some stuff with multiple component things, and trying how much difference advanced alchohols make to drinks, and I'll post in here.

Results with blap biscuits(2 carbosyrups, and a dough)

Experimented components:

13% nutrition(before experimenting): +11/+94/+92

55% nutrition: +11/+176/+149

Unexperimented components:

13%: -17/+65/+65

56%: -8/+144/+144.

Looks like component experimentation does matter here then... However I'm fairly confident I've seen in some stuff that it doesn't matter(may be stuff using identical factory components). I'll post more later

I learned last night Crafting Tool Effectiveness mater too

its a invisable stat that you can midify when you build the crafting tool but here was my results .

Wastril Bread using 4% effectiveness food and chemical tool

Neutrition experimented to 66%

+78 stamina

Wastril Bread Using a 33% effectiveness food and chemical tool

Neutrition experimented to 66%

+108 Stamina

it made each sucess on the experiment add more on some items

but foods like tatoonie sunburns and all others that used domestic arts components it seemed to do nothing

Components definitely don't matter for sunburn, from all I've tried. I know that generally they do matter. The most obvious effect is in alcohols. If you use that fruit distillate rather than normal alcohol you will get much much better results.

As for craft tool effectiveness.. I just replaced all my tools with 67% effectiveness, but the only thing I've noticed (and I've heard others notice) is that I tend to have more successes and less failures when experimenting. I've definitely made wastril bread with my new tools and see no dramatic increases in stats other than what you would get with better experimentation effects. Are you sure you were using the same ingredients?

yes using the same ingrediants it could just be a flook of experiments I gues but it seems to

sometimes I get critical failures that make th stats go up and amazing sucess that raise one stat and lower the other..

I was thinking about the whole crafting tool thing earlier today while getting my Prinergy Creo Lecture this morning. How do you check for effectiveness?

There is nothing on the tool examination that indicates effectiveness. But when you make the tool you can experiment on effectiveness. I'm using 670 conductivity copper, which I can fully experiment up to 67% effectiveness.

Tip, give your nicer tools a special name so you don't get them confused with your old ones.

ah ok thanks! I will get to work on replacing mine since I can't remember what I the build stats were on them.

On the Test Center, with thenew patch, you can examine crafting tools for Effectiveness.

Also, when you use your crafting tool, it opens to the last schematic you made.

Same with survey devices keeping track of the last thing you surveyed. You can close the device, survey a few times, and when you open it again the map is updated.

But the dark side of the patch - food had no stats and you couldn't eat it. I think they fixed this now, nearly two weeks after they put up the patch. Gosh, do you think they consider food a low priority or something?

wahey! Making large orders and grinding xp is gonna be a lot easier now... I really hated having to scroll all the way to the bottom to make vercupti's... may be a simple fix, but it helps a lot

Hrm, that's odd ilori. I thought i was using hte best resources (according to the schematic), but it turns out i'm not!

I can only experiment to 61% before it's maxed, and i was using a swairtiem steel from last patch that has super high conductivity and decay resistance. Weird.

As for factory produced items, it doesn't reduce it's effectiveness.

I'm working off 99% tools I'm pretty sure they haven't neen making a difference to me...

I'm also using a 78% crafting station... dont know if its helping... guess I'll try to record the stats when I have a chance...

The whole patch on test center worries me when it comes to crafting tool effectiveness. Currently I have found that the max experimentation % you can get is the resource quality divided by 10, regardless of the crafting tool (you need a 1000 flav/pe/oq resource to make perfect food)...if tool experimentation is added to this, then it could be an extra modifier on the experimentation, which would be awful (since we get 100% right now). I hope that effectiveness just increases/decreases the ability to critical fail/amazing success.
