Thread: Factory is almost useless?
I'm playing with a friends Artisian and I've notice that factory crates are kind of uselses. Tell me if I'm missing something
I make a Bofa Treat with 5 uses from 11 resource that weighs in at 1 unit
I make a schematic of the same stats and have it set to 100 items. I thien have the factory produce the items. What happens is I get
4 crates of 25 bofa treats with 1 use each
Factory crates weigh 5 units each
Factory uses up 1100 units of ingrediants
Factory takes about 15-20 times longer to produce the items
Factory only gives 10% of the xp
So if I make them by hand I get
440xp for General crafting, It cost me 220 units of ingrediants and wieghs in at 20 units when completed
with factory I get
220xp for general crafting. It cost me 1100 units of ingrediants and weighs in at 20 units but the factory crates weight never drops as I ust them up.
Why doesn't food have multiple uses from a factory crate? meds do.
Currently, factories are very useful for
1: mass producing starshine surprises for making tatooine sunburns.
2: mass-producing components which dont give chef experience....carbosyrup, dough, etc.
3: producing other components (alcohol, fruit distillate) because your fingers hurt from clicking so much.
Exactly... I had my first major run in with this mess this past weekend. A CH wanted a case of food as taking up a bunch of inventory slots with multiple stacks of food was very frustrating for him... until I explained to him that he would get nearly 4X as much food for the same price if he didn't want it in a crate.
Even if I charged only 2cr per resource for a crate of food it was about 2.5k per crate... (and this was for a small DA food...) so he would be paying 100cr per serving..where as he can easily by wastril bread or other foods from the bizaar for ~100 cr a stack of 3-5+.
so so sad ![]()
