Thread: Like we needed another reason to hate being a chef

The primary reason I have been holding onto chef is to run a player cantina in a city. Now they have updated the Holocron help listing for player cities on the Test Center:

Cantina

You must be a Master Dancer or Master Musician to place a Cantina

I guess they never noticed that bartenders and chefs actually RUN cantinas and musicians and dancers just work in them. Theaters are also Dancer/Musician only too.

Tell me again why I am a chef?

THEY MUST BE KIDDING!?!?!?!

If this is the case, remove all NPC bartenders from existing NPC cities. Why do NPC's get to roleplay, but we can't?

I gues I am relegated to Merchant Tents so my food and drink can spoil in the outdoors.

I sound trite, but get real. Throw us a %^*%* bone already. Allow us to do SOMETHING while you leave our class broken.

They will lose another account if this is not changed before that patch. I know I can just have a Master Dance place the Cantina and probaby transfer it or ad me to the Admin list, but that is not the point.

Even more evidence for the notecard-and-dart method of dividing skills among classes. Ok, theaters make sense to be an entertainer-only building, but a cantina is a bar/restaurant with some entertainment in it. As far as entertainer skills go, a theater and cantina are identical (wounds and fatigue heal equally well in either), but a cantina should be a place for food/drink first, entertainment second, so placable by a master chef (maybe even "Expert Bartender").

Just out of curiousity, are there any buildings that require crafter classes to place? Do those Merchant tents require being a Merchant, skills in Business, or available to anyone? And do buildings in player cities count against your lot limit?

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO OWN A CANTINA.

When I saw this on the Test Center, I talked to the chef developer about this. He said that it has not been pushed to the test center, but master musicians, master dancers AND MASTER CHEFS will be able to place cantinas on live.

All I can say is, they'd better change this before it goes live. Seriously. It makes so little sense, it boggles the mind. The whole reason I started chef is because I wanted to own my own bar. I want a cantina that I can sell my freakin' drinks in, is that really so much to ask?
