At first, when i read of the new patch, i was excited
i was thinking this is what we always needed

Infact, i reactivated my account over it

and at first, at least, people seem to say this patch was dynomite

expecially that bantha butter

but now i'm reading the something in the patch has gone terribly terribly wrong, and that now people are even quitting chef again

and there is some new found bug that most people are saying will make it to Live

I quit one time because chef got the shaft (and the holocrons pissed me off). If chef gets the shaft again, i don't know what i'm going to do.

I've heard about the stomach filling and about the new HAM that will be implemented like 1 month after we get "patched" (why would they even do this? this makes no sense to me.. that'd just break us and then break everyone else to be along with us). I've read where our new buffs will be EVEN LESS effective now thatn they were before. I've heard the cups/kegs thing sucks because it doesn't justify using the bigger containers (although i reveled in the thought of making Dixie cups).

I dunno.. i'm terribly confused and i don't have time to play a main character and a test center character. So, break it down to me. I've been reading the forums but i still can't really say. Is this new patch good or bad?

Heck yeah. From what i can tell, this is a nerf. Unbeleivable. Does anyone even think about this sort of stuff. Best mind buffs are gone. Buffs for players are not extended. The only good thing I see is pet foods, but i doubt those will replace the players who want good buffs for themselves in PVE and PVP action. Also I heard all crates are bugged of old food so I will loses millions if this goes live. I have over 3 million in stock in crates on my vendor.

I think there are people in both camps.

I see more old chefs in the bad camp and newchefs in the good camp.

Im trying to accept what vimes says that the ingredients may not be very good for the results we are seeing etc etc. so Im hanging on to hope that it can be fixed. I see a couple good foods. But I see huge amounts of added work and total reliance on other classes to make a good product. And the stomach thing...1hr or 45 mins whichever it is...that has to go. The barrel thing as well, after seeing the comparison, I dont think there is any resource Id use this for...maybe if I had 1000,1000,100,1000 domestic meat but honestly...both the chef level containers seem fairly useless and I still dont understand why a master chef would be less efficient than a novice artisan. The containers should become more efficient the more experienced the maker is I would think.

Crate bug - suckage. I still cant believe we dont have a report from test on if factories are working right and making charged food.

Moltar - you've been around a while, yeah?

My complaint boils down to this --

In the past, we've had a fewdecent buffs, which everyone made and most everyone sold. We also had many frivolous buffs that virutally no one made and no one sold.

In the patch, we have a fewdecent buffs that everyone will make and most people will sell. We also have many frivolous buffs that virtually no one will end up making and no one will sell.

We needed a menu _full_ of good buffs. Not a smattering ofpassing buffs. Then I could have been the guy who made x,y,z foods; and you'd have been the guy who made a,b,c foods; and some guy played so much that he made the whole alphabet, and everyone would say he's a great chef.

In a few weeks, when the newness of the new items wears off, I fear we'll find that we are not better off than we were before. That we've traded one situation for another exactly like it. This looks like a revamp with no vamp.

Is it good or bad? It's a wash, that's the problem (as I see it).

I initially started chef as holochef about 2 months ago. But after seeing how well chef was fixed from my last knowledge of its state. I went ahead and made my Alt a Master Chef. I have alot mixed emotions on the revamp. The main concern i have is the incredible changes that they have done. I dont see this as a revamp at all, but a complete nerf. Yes its been told they are changing the HAM system, not sure what with. But i personally am not really looking forward to this complete change. SirVimes for weeks was saying he was excited for this revamp and how it will change the Chef profession for the better. So we trusted this and were excited. Upon seeing this change, I feel alittle misled. Not SirVimes fault, but I think the simple fact that it feels that the Devs think that Chefs were to good in buffing, especially for Mind heals/buffs.

The addition to Skill enhancements in foods was a great idea, i will give them that. But the complete deletion of some of the greatest schematics that we have/had was just a bad move. If things become to much of a pain to create for such a rediculous buff,i can see alot of us moving on.

The other thing i have a problem with, is being told that the new HAM system will becoming in the publish AFTER this coming one. Ok, so we lose our ability to create HAM buffs, but yet the HAM system stays in its current state for at the very least a month? I somehow dont see the common sense approach on this one.

SirVimes, your doing a great job, dont get me wrong, but it seems the voice of the Majority has been ignored. To include yours. Kinda makes me feel that Correspondants are just the Devs way of saying, "here tell us what u want and we will see what we can do", then they talk to each other, "ya **edit** ever, u wish, nope thats not gonna happen"

Wish you all luck in TC trying to get them to implement changes the majority is wanting. But alot in what i can see is just alot of crap, and lack of indepth look on the Dev side. Regardless of what they say they did to ensure a balance, they really didnt do a bang up job.
