I tried foods a long time ago and it seemed that I got some ok benefits for a few minutes but I couldn't keep the benefits continuously because the filling seemed to last forever. Has this been changed in the new system? If not chefs may want to push for this hard. I think fixing this would bring a lot of new customers, myself included.

Ok, here's how the new digestion works:
Every food/drink has a filling number displayed in it's details. This is the percentage of the food or drink bar (depending on which type the item is) that will get used up when you eat/drink it.
Both bars will digest completely from 100% full to empty in 30 minutes, and this is a continuous process starting at the time you eat the food. For filling less then 100%, I think that the digestion time is simply 30m * Filling / 100 (although some more testing may need to be done to verify that's its a linear decay). So if you eat two 25 Filling foods, your Food bar will be at 50, which will digest back to an empty stomach in 30 * 50 / 100 = 15m.
The duration of the food buff is completely independent of this digestion.
Since most foods with a duration last longer than 10-15m, and most stat buffs last over 30m, there's not really much we need to complain about to the devs.

I've seen you explain how the stomach now multiple times, and each time, it gets better and better. I think with this post you have nailed down the explanation perfectly. I would recommend you copy/paste that paragraph into a new post, and have SirVimes sticky it, as the "chef's guide to the stomach"
Nice work as always.
cheers!
