Unbelievable, I can't post tables of data on these forums?!?
Anyways, here's the fruits of some testing I did the past few days on containers and additives. I'll update it as I get more data if people think it would be useful.

Thank you, good information...still leaves me concerned about the dependency on BEs being too great. I guess time will tell.

Nice info. I keep getting thrown that the quantity additives are a bonus 149 (in your case) on top of the existing quanity, I kept trying to figure out why a 1.5 mutliplier from a cask was worse than a 1.49 multiplier from the additive (it's 1.49 addition, so a 2.49 multiplier).
Bummer on the barrel, I'm assuming you /bugged it? Something that requires 300 metal and two Master artisan components should probably do better when replacing acomponent made with 10 gems. ![]()

I've done much better than that :-)
I've communitcated the Barrel bug in at least 5 different methods of communication that SOE have setup, including talking to Devs and testers directly on TC, and posting it to all applicable chef revamp testing threads. Hopefully it'll get addressed soon or I'm physcially going to the SOE offices to raise some hell.

This is the one thing I hate about the new system. Making a barrel has sod all to do with making droid components or mining, and yet we are forced to take up master artisan if we ever want to run an effective business(note, I say forced because to run an EFFECTIVE business, you want to be outsourcing as little as possible). I think componants to make casks should be granted at Dom Arts 4, with parts for barrels granted at Novice Chef or Mix 2.
My planned template included artisan 0442, and not taking engineering(which has NOTHING to do with making food, you dont see "famous" TV chefs grubbing down the mines or building cars to learn how to make a cake now do you) allowed me to have some decent combat ability(I could master pistoleer). Now, to actually run my cafe, I have to pick up skills that I will NEVER USE other than to make a couple of components, so those points are wasted.
Instead of penalising chefs to boost artisans egos, they should allow us to be effective without having to pick up skilltrees that are no use to us at all.

Gadon, show me one business who that doesn't outsource their supplies.
You don't HAVE to get anything but Chef if you want to run an effective Chef business.

Actually, Gadon, half of your artisan experiementation points come from the Engineering line so if you want to be able to create effective artisan-level food you do need to take Engineering. This was especially important before when the quality of my dough and carbosyrup did affect my final product.
I know when I was re-working my character, I realized it was only really a matter of 6 skill points, the difference between non-master and master artisan/chefs, because a chef that wants to run an NPC vendor, survey for resources without going insane and make decent artisan level food DOES in fact need 4/4/4/4.

Ok, fair enough, I hadnt thought of the experimentation, but Id never planned to make artisan foods(they were not worth it before), now they look more attractive. But tailor? Thats a little over the top you must admit. what does tailoring have to do with bottling drinks? Oh and to answer you who asked about outsourcing: whisky companies. The proper old fasioned single malt brewers here in scotland grow the cereals in their village, make the casks, ferment the whisky and bottle it all by themselves, no outsourcing at all.
I just dont see why its not possible to be a good crafter without ending up totally gimped when it comes to combat. Im not asking to be over powered, but more than one skilltree in an advanced combat profession would be nice, I like to shoot back when Im attacked rather than have a simple choice between run and die.
