omg what an idiot
lol assigning experimental points
Ive done it a million times
I was confused by suggestions of assigning 1 pt at a time;
thought it was some other function that was being talked about;
Now i look like a complete newb.
I usually just spread my points out where i want them from the start rather then risking a less then desirable result experimenting more than once on an item.
In my experience the more times you experiment on a product the more chance of less then great outcome.
k thx anyway sorry to belabor an obvious activity

I got some nice responses to my previous questions concerning difficulties obtaining 'great success' schemas
However im still clueless about the assigning of experimental points to the experimental action I'm performing.
I looked close and see no radial button or menu option for assigning points to experimentation activity
Can someone explain this?

You need to be standing next to a Food/Chemical crafting station, preferably your own Private Station. These are the large Stations that trainers can mostly be found standing next to. When you do stand by one, you will get the experimentation menu in the middle of your crafting.

You also have to be using a Food/Chem crafting tool, you don't get the option to experiment with a generic tool. It's basically the same criteria for making a crafting schematic. Isn't that what you were working on?
When you get to the experimentation step, you should see two/three categories: Flavor and Texture, Nutrition, and (for everything except some components) Quantity. The experimentation points you have available to spend are on the left, you assign points by clicking the blue bubbles. Yellow bubbles show the current level for each category, and green are points you've assigned but haven't clicked the "Run experiment" button yet. (note: those are color scheme dependent, I'm using the "Destroyer" scheme).
If you go to the main "Star Wars Galaxies" page (the link at the top of the forum just under station.com), under click "Advanced Guides" under "Manual", theres a guide there for crafting, and chapter three goes through experimentation fairly well. Just ignore the comment about more complex items being more expensive to insure, I'm not even sure if that feature was included on release.
