Thread: Issues that are left...

ok seeing as how most people are now satisfied/happy/impressed with the current buff levels of foods...theres really only a couple of things left that we initially had an issue with:

1) experimenting subcomponents...
2) pet buffs buffing primaries instead of the infinitely more useful secondaries
3) how will filling with old foods be calculated when it hits live

not sure if those 3 have already been addressed...and they are relatively minor issues compared with the stomach decay one, but still it would be nice if a dev could give us a response as to what decision has been made regarding those 3...or at least give SirVimes the info, so he can pass it on to us.

for #1...I like the experimenting on things like carbosyrup, dough, alchohols, etc...but can see a reason to not allow it on things like kegs, casks, etc. If experimenting on subcomponents isn't going to be an option, could we at least get "advanced" component options at higher levels? every other profession has the same basic things...replace basic subcomponents with advanced ones...I don't see why chefs would never be able to make a better carbosyrup than an artisan can...

for #2...well even if they don't plan on changing the pet buffs, it would be nice to know that they aren't going to change them...and if they are, well it'd be nice to know that one too.

for #3...well since old food is still bugged on TC from what I've heard...no clue as to if the filling for old foods is also bugged...if a dev could say how the filling on old foods would work...it'd be nice...that way we'd actually know if its working or not when the chefs/players on TC test it.

2 weeks until this patch hits live...not too bad...other than the fact that there aren't many master BE's left...and with such high meat requirements...not looking like there will be many new ones for the tissues we need. it seems like the devs are indeed paying close attention to this forum...but even if they are listening to us...it would still be good if they could take a few minutes and inform either us or SirVimes about the remaining major issues with the revamp. especially with the old food...if we don't know how its supposed to work...how are the people on TC supposed to know if its bugged or not? maybe its supposed to all have a standard filling...maybe its supposed to suck and not work...then again maybe its supposed to be absolutely incredible to encourage people to use the old stuff up (clear up db space)....we have know way of knowing unless the devs tell us exactly how its supposed to work.

Add

1)The BE meat demands are too high (I see you mentioned it but just make sure it gets on the list)

2) Milk should be more frequent considering the numbers we will need to produce factory runs

3) Containers - Barrel seems to be broken and before it was broken the multiplier on it compared to the resources spent was...well way way out of line imo. IMO, most of the multipliers seem out of line compared to the resources required to add them.

My vote in order of importance of these things would be:

1. Milk drop rates - need to be large enough to fill large factory run capacity since many of the milk recepies are likely to be in high demand. In my mind, thats the most important issue outstanding.

2. Barrals need to be adjusted so that the high resource cost provides a worthwhile investment to the chef and the consumer. It doesn't so much bother me that they require lots of resources, but needs to be worth the extra cost and trouble.

3. BE resource requirements for the biocomponents - Perhaps could be adjusted down a little, but I don't think too much. I believe it is correct that we should not be able to run full factory runs time after time using these. It would make non BE foods undesirable. These shouldbe reserved for our premium customers. I really like the fact that now we have options to go above and beyond the norm for those who are willing to pay for it. At the very least, I think this is something that we might say the jury is still out on and we need to see how things pan out with supply and demand first, before we can determine if needs to be addressed.

Hail!

Not sure if this is new info or not, but does anyone know if the problem with the "unit count" for factory crates has been corrected or addressed? I'm not sure how popular of a subject this is, but right now, folks are hesitant to buy factory food crates off a vendorbecause you cannot tell the unit count (ie 4 or 8 tatooine Sunburn in afactory crate of 25).

Thanks a bunch!

I'm not sure about crates, but the unit count for drinks is now visible during experimentation (well, except for T'illa T'ill, which appears to be intended as a single-use stack), and that disappeared the same time crates stopped displaying "uses remaining".
