So, I look today and see if I can possibly master BE and Chef .. This is easier for me, as I have 2 crafting toons - so one can survey and the other dont have to.

Anyways, here is what I have come up with:

Artisan: 0/4/4/1 <---Survey 1, so I can STILL see whats out there =/

Medic: 0/0/0/4 <---BE Required

Scout: 0/0/4/0 <---BE Required

Chef : 4/4/4/4 <---Master

Bio E: 4/4/4/4 <---Master

Merch. 0/0/0/4 <---Can keep my vendors after they patch that

Now, I am able to make my own things for foods, and I do not have to hunt down a BE to make things for me. Anyone have opinions on this? I know it will make me a little more busy, but I would only be making things for ME, not for public sale as a BE... So, I dont really want to make pets, just my additives ....

Thanks for this template, saves me a little time.

Ive also got master Bio-Engineer ona seperate account to my master chef.... however I am finding it hugely difficult to gather the resources required for BE'ing as well as keep up with everything for chef..

Its a very nice template but you need a lot of time I can play for several hours a day and still cant gather the stuff for bio-engineer

Indeed a great template. I find I'm torn with Chef and Arch too....but Arch will be gone soon. I was doing that more for my PA than for a business.

However, I wouldn't have had the time to do all the gathering for Arch and Chef at the same time even if I wanted to do Arch as a business. Chef is already time consuming, and I think it's about to be moreso.

not sure what I'm going to do yet, but this looks interesting =-)

Yeah, time consuming, and hard to get things.. But, I must say I have a WONDERFUL guild. They tend to take care of the crafters - and the docs.We have a Master BE in our city now - but, he is not part of our guild... I would rather make my own stuff, experiment it how I want it etc.. Thats easier for me.. I dont want to depend on anyone else for stuff.. Want it when I need it kinda thing..

Yeah, we have a few architects around us, they seem to like it - and I almost took that up long enough to make my own buildings/structures. I guess I am the type who just wants to make things...

I dont like to burden my guild mates with my needs a whole lot - other than the resources they gather that I can not - like Meats, Hides, etc. And they do a wonderful job at it too. In one night/day I can have enough Carn. meat to last a month (Krayt Dragons) Hides are easy to get normally too.

Here is a question....do you have to be a master bio engineer?

The reason I am asking is because you are going to want to harvest meat for the bioengineer components. Don't you want to put some points into combat so you can hunt?

Just to add more confusion, if you're harvesting yourself, ranger is very nice to get increased yields from what you kill

You may wanna work on that template some. Not having engineering 1-4 from artisan wont give u any experiment points for the artisan foods and components. Not Having Atleast some mask scent bonus from the exploration line will make it next to impossible to sample DNA from high level creatures, even with explore 1-4 and full set of mask scent clothes i get agro'd alot. The way i figure the only way to master BE and chef without imparing either profession is to drop all merchant and some business. I am gonna have to live with having the refridgerator lookin vendor.

That's a good point, but I think he just wants to make additives, not sample DNA for pets, so having the scouting skills wouldn't be as necessary. To my knowledge you don't need to sample to make the additives. I agree with not having the egineering in Artisan could hurt. I have a feeling that a lot of the Artisan food will be popular.

My template is this:

  • Master Chef

  • Master Merchant (I have a tent, and provide vendors for other guildies and like advirtising so might as well have master.)

  • Master Artisan(If barrels ever get fixed I want to be able to make my own PC's and CU's and for experimentation on Artisan foods.)

  • 3, 0, 4, 4 Tailor(Can make trim and the new Chef clothes with sockets this way, as well as some other cute clothes.)

This way I only have to out-source for BE items. It also helps that I have an alt char that's a Master Bounty Hunter that can do a bit of meat and milk collecting for myself. =)

Give me just a few minutes, I will have a new template - and no, I dont need to master it - just thought I would.. No real big deal though.

Yes, all I want to do is additives - and the Eng. Line can hurt, but I also have a ace in the whole there too.. I do have 2 crafters.. Artisan food I need to exp, I can exp on the other

Okay, here is a new template for the Chef who wants to make all his stuff himself:

Artisan - 4/4/4/2 <--All artisan experiment plus survey 2 to see whats out there
Medic - 1/0/0/4 <--BE needs the last line
Scout - 0/0/4/0 <--BE needs that
Chef - 4/4/4/4 <--Master yay!
BE - 0/4/0/4 <--Experimenting and Additives
Merch.- 0/0/0/4 <--Keep my vendors after the patch
Tailor - 0/1/0/0 <--Make your own Trim

Kinda a complicated template, and pure crafter really. On BE, I dont need any DNA stuff, so no going out and hoping to not get killed sampling. Thoughts on this one? I think this is a good one to do - but.. you never know.. Some people dont like to do that much crafting, but in the long run, I think it will be better than tracking down a BE to make me something NOW cause I have an order I need to fill, or I want to "try" something..
