I noticed Geonosians on Yavin 4will bedropping shellfish harvester schematics...has anyone built/used one yet on TC? Will these be a 'tool' or a 'lot-based' item (meaning they take up a lot like other harvesters do)? Thanks!

It's a tool (it looks identical to a flora survey tool), but it doesn't work the same.
You get the tool, and take it to water. Once you're standing, but not swimming, in the water. You "use" the tool.
It then says "You have failed to find anything" or something like that.
You swear, and "use" the tool again.
It then says "You have failed to find anything" or something like that.
You swear again, and repeat the process a number of times.
Eventually, it says "You have obtained 2 units of mollusk"
You stand there and wonder why you even bother, then throw the shellfish harvester into the water (where you have to swim).
I believe you then have to go and find another harvester, alothough I never got past that part.
(This is an honest account of my first TC experience with a shellfish harveter)

Sounds about like fishing...well...when fishing actually worked on my server...

I would assume there are places where shellfish are plentiful, and you can get lots everytime you use the tool. However, I was not in one of those places, and I don't know how to find them.

I'm sure you could use the survey tool to find a good concentration. As for using it, I made a crate of blue milk using Mollusks (good quality). Mmmmm.

In the post, I said "use" in quotes because that's all you can do with it. It's not a traditional survey tool.
You double click the device, click use in the menu, or hit the Fkey if it's in the hotbar and it tries to find shellfish. That is all.
No tracking, No percentages, No traditional sampling.
And no, Chefs don't use shellfish or eggs. Someone gave it to me at a shuttleport saying "Here, your a chef, you need this." I said "No, actually I don't." They said "Sure you do, here." So I took it.

my understanding is density or some such need top be 5 to get shell fish. You wade in the water, not swim. But kinda like fiushing but different. There is a quuest for them that a artisan can get the schem for.
