In the October patch, they made this how it works. Of course, with the stat bug, you only saw the immediate increase on the first buff. Now with the stat bug fixed, any food/drink thatbuffs health, action, or mind puts an immediate addition to your current value as well as raising the max.

This comes in handy for the mind pool, and for players like me who travel solo and don't have Novice Medic. I've got some Vayerbok (+240ish health), Durindfire (+200 Mind) and Thundercloud (+300 action) on my quick bar for emergencies. I'd probably be better off replacing the Durind with a Bespin Port, but I haven't taken the time to harvest the Tatooine-specific flora that's required. And I picked up a pretty good gemstone, so I can experiment the Durind to the point where it doesn't have a health negative.

Aye, there is obviously a lot of misconceptions and lack of knowledge amoungst the general populace of what foods and drinks can do for them. It is the challenge of the chefs to teach them.

make it necessary to eat/drink to live? I wouldn't mind so much, but is it me or does food cost quite a bit? That would give a nice market to chefs, considering we can't eat or drink without you all?

yes I know, flame me now

I'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but any food or drink that raises Mind (and possibly other pools)seems to bepretty much useless.

This is because most drinks that raise Mind are short duration. As I understand it, only the max limit on the pool is being raised. If you use up your mind, it's not going to hit the max. And if you get to the higher max, it drops again when the duration runs out.

Wouldn't a more sensible approach be to increase the pool instead of increasing the max limit on the pool?

So, if I'm down to 100 Mind, I can now take a sip and I'm suddenly up to 300 Mind. Or is this how it currently works?

Food that buffs mind is definetly not useless.

I am a chef and TK. My stats are heavy on health and action, but weak on mind. I routinely carry mind boosting food with me and use it during a battle. It often saves my life.

A good example is a fight i had the other day. I got jumped by a red con and couldn't get away from the fight since I had a couple group members that I was protecting as thier tank. If I die, they are soon to follow, so I must stand my ground. I begin to fight. I'm wearing some nice armour which does a good job protecting my health and action, but soon i am down to 250 of 450 mind and dropping. I quickly click on the stack of drinks I had preplaced on my action bar and drink 4 of them. My mind shoots up to about 550 of 750, giving me enough time to survive the fight and saving not only my life but my two friends. I was only using a stack of Ruby Bliel which isn't even a chef quality food, but only an artisan food with a plus 75 boost.

Definetly not useless.

Very depends on how you make your market.A Master TKA/doctor want mind buff more than other class when they use the Power boost, longer their mind, more their health and action bar buff up. I have seen a TKA/doctor has base 3xx health 3xx action and very long mind bar before he buff up doctor buff.
