Thread: SirVimes, Do you have anything else for us?
Well it has been over a week since Thunderheart said he would have some info on the new changes to chef so it looks like he has forgotten us, again. ![]()
Now.... while we did appreciate your update you didn't really tell us anything ![]()
I was just wondering if you can tell us anything else to bring hope to the wayward masses ![]()
Keep up the good work SirVimes
TH didn't forget us. He just REALLY underestimated how much work he has to do. But didn't forget us. I know this because right now I am working with TH to get you some new information...
...Gotta be honest, don't get your hopes up for a lot of juicy information just yet.
Most of the really cool stuff, like how they will be changing experimentation or what the new buffs will be like, are constantly changing at this point. The devs don't like to give out information unless they are fairly certain it won't be changing, and I agree with this policy.
I am pestering Greenmarine and Thunderheart for more information for you guys, see if there is anything that is deffinite I can share with you.

I'm glad we have you as our correspondent, SirVimes. You seem to understand the process of development better than some of the other correspondents I have seen and I'm appreciative of that.
Most people don't understand the process behind developing a game or even a piece of software of such magnitude and it can be frustrating at times. That's why I don't get upset when they tell us they will get more informationg by a certain date and fail to do so. I've been working with a Fortune 500 company for over six years testing firmware and believe me, deadlines almost always slip, nothing is ever as easy as they believe, developers and engineers do not have the last word on the product development, and information of changes rarely makes its way to those who really want it.
Keep the faith friends, when they have information for us I'm sure that SirVimes will pass it along to us as soon as he is able to do so.
Thank you SirVimes for your dedication to the Chef profession.
Thank you SirVimes. ![]()
All I ever want in an honest answer and I can always count on getting one from you.
I am about to start grinding up my chef on Chimeara, so with any luck we'll get the details of the changes by the time she's Master
I agree with Taurbok. I don't post often, but as a career chef I keep a keen eye on the boards, and really appreciate SirVimes work!
/cheer SirVimes!
Ty SirVimes, your work is greatly appreciated by this humble master chef. ![]()
People we have to realise that you can't just dump a bunch of new recipes on Chefs and say 'There you go guys! Have fun!'
These buffs can very easily unbalance the game and make one class unstoppable ot render a once hard mob too easy allowing unfairfarming of experience, etc. They will have to come up with some good ideas, try them out internally, see how they stack up with other items in the game such as skill tapes, armor combinations, spice, doc and entertainer buffs, and see how they affect special skills. Then they will have to go to TC for a while. I wouldn't expect too much before Christmas even if they only stick to allowing us buffs to stats like we have now. If they add the complication of buffing skills (please let it be so) then that adds a whole other layer to the cake (unabashed chef reference).
So relax, we know they are looking at our profession and looking at it hard.Take this time to enjoy the professions strengths as they are now before we all become n00bs again as we learn a new system of recipes and how they work, what they work best for, how to make them the best, and all of that knowledge some take for granted now.
And to add my voice to the hue and cry...... /cheer SirVimes!!!![]()
